what is the likely hood that we get a one and done with coach PE? is he in favor of that? In interviews he has said that he thought it would be hard for Georgetown to compete for those kids in general, so the best strategy would be to look for kids right under that level and then coach them up and get them to work together. He never said he wouldn't take one, though.

2018 Matthew Horton 6'10 PF | Shelton State (AL) JUCO Horton has offers from Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State and Arkansas-Little Rock. He will take official visits to all three places in the fall. He is also now being recruited by Arkansas, Georgetown, Baylor, UAB, TCU, Kansas State and others according to Shelton State head coach Joseph Eatmon. “It is really picking up,” Eatmon said. “It has been unbelievable. Actually this weekend, Arkansas and Georgetown were both here and he already has offers from a lot of mid majors such as Middle Tennessee State, Western Carolina, Western Kentucky and Arkansas-Little Rock has offered him. “UAB is recruiting him now, Auburn is recruiting him and it is all over the place. Baylor just called today and wants to recruit him now. TCU and Kansas State also are interested.” If Arkansas were to offer, Horton said the Razorbacks would move to the front of the line and he would plan to sign in the early period in November. “I am going to sign as early as I can,” Horton said. “Arkansas would be at the top, number one. “Coach Watkins calls me all the time and keeps me up on the team and Daniel. I would love to play there.” Horton averaged 5.7 points, 5.1 rebounds , blocked 47 shots and shot 67 percent from the field as a freshman for Shelton State. He's in a rotation of 12 to 14 for a team went 27-6 last season. “I came in kind of slow my freshmen year, was still learning a lot, still maturing,” Horton said. “I think I grew up a lot as the season kept going and I started playing better late when we really needed the games. “They counted on me when we needed a defensive stop and I tried to be a big presence for the team.” www.wholehogsports.com/news/2017/jul/24/arkansas-checks-out-shelton-state-center-matthew-h/

Looks to be a player worth recruiting, he's just starting to get noticed..
A long and athletic wing who is fluid with the ball, Diallo has big upside once his skill catches up to his athleticism and though it wasn't easy to leave his home, he thinks it is working out.
"For me, when I’m looking at colleges, I’m just looking for a school that will help me get a degree and help me further my basketball career," said Diallo. "With the education part, that’s really important to me because I’ll need it after basketball is over."

theundefeated.com/features/dikembe-mutombo-nba-africa-basketball-without-borders/When you see kids coming from all over Africa to this camp hoping to be discovered to come to the States to play in high school, college or even the NBA, how much should they embrace this opportunity?Big. They embrace this opportunity. They seize the moment. This is the only chance they got. Some of them want to show to the coaches and the NBA officials, ‘Take me to America, please. I am ready. I want to go study. I want to become somebody. If I won’t make it to the NBA I can use the talents and the gifts that God gave to me to contribute to [an American] college or high school to get a free education. Maybe one day I can come back to Africa and contribute or do something for somebody else. So, they’re happy and I am happy about all the kids who are taking a step to come here to participate in this camp. They are gifted and they just wanted to show the world that they are dying for that chance. Hopefully, there will be an opportunity for so many of them to go to America. Myself, I adopted one of the kids last year. He is from Congo and he is 7-7. He is 17 years old. He was in the [2016] camp and he was doing so well, but not doing as well as he should be. I looked at myself and said, ‘I used to be like that.’ I wanted to give this kid a chance because so many people gave me a chance, too. So, I put him on a plane and I took him to the U.S. We put him in a school, we’re feeding him. We’re giving him everything and he is going to a private school in Maryland. I am so proud of him. Hopefully, next year he will go to Georgetown. How much did it change his life?It changed his life so [much]. He is going to be a senior this year in high school. He’s very happy and he’s working very hard this summer. I think he has a chance to shine at an NBA camp in the future. How does he remind you of yourself? He reminds me of when I was young. I was real, real shy. When I used to go to the market in the Congo, people would be running away. They were calling me a ‘ghost.’ I was bullied a lot when I was young in school and in the streets. And now when I go back they cheer for me like I was president. These are the same people who used to boo me. The same people when I go back to my neighborhood, I say, ‘These people used to laugh at me every morning.’ ‘Look at this kid. Look at how tall he is. Look at how fragile he is.’ They used to call me all kinds of names. Some people used to call me ‘giraffe.’ I never let those things break me down. I kept going. - Probably talking about Watara Mountari

See the post right above yours. Its Watara Mountari. I spoke to a friend who has kids that play various sports at Bullis, where Mountari goes to high school. He says that Mountari is a wonderful kid -smart, engaged, great personality. But he can still barely run up and down the court. He just does not move well at all, and still has not really played meaningful minutes for the Bullis basketball program. he does reportedly have a nice outside shooting touch for such a big guy. So we should not get our hopes up about getting the next Mutombo in this kid! But it does seem possible that he ends up becoming a student at Georgetown, and then perhaps walking on to the basketball team as an extreme developmental prospect

Stats last year in Juco appear pretty unimpressive---5.7 pts, 5.1 boards per game. The clip shows him with a bunch of blocks, but hard to tell the level of competition he is up against. Has anyone seen this kid an have an idea why he is getting high major interest?

Haven't seen him play other than clips, but know they scouted him earlier this month... Looks like he has some descent skills, but could be a depth signing in case Jessie Jumps..

We don't need a 4-yr project when we already have a 2-yr project signed........

Horton looks like a big that you would use in a PnR game. he has coordination and has a nice looking stroke from 15ft.

If it was more than a friendly visit, Javonta Lyons and Alex Dotson are the only prospects I'm familiar with in their program...
