Calipari is making the most of using ESPN as a marketing tool to constantly bring in recruits. Honestly though, what can you do? I'm sure other schools will do the exact same thing and follow UK's lead on it. Not so much to bring in recruits but to advertise to them, his message is "we are on another level".. It's all about branding to Cal & UK.. To me this is where that corny saying of "don't hate the playa, hate the game" actually works.. Not one of us would complain if G'town did this, in fact I think they should.. It won't be long before all big schools have production teams posting practices or scrimmages or skill stations to a programs youtube channel for all to see especially potential recruits & pro scouts.. Btw what does the media rights contract that the school signed with Fox entail?

I guess it's all about using tact when advertising, if Georgetown would go this route.

They won't be very good if he doesn't play. He's critical to them.

They won't be very good if he doesn't play. He's critical to them. Why, because they would have to get by with only 15 Mickey D's on their 13 man roster instead of 16?

Not quite, their best players are Skal, Poythress, Briscoe, Jamal Murray, Marcus Lee, Charles Matthews, Tyler Ulis, and Derek Willis and maybe Isaac Humphries? The guards are very good but where's the beef? Heck, where's the small forwards? Lee sucks. Willis sucks. Poythress is pretty good but he may be the best big on the team. Unless Charles Matthews or Humphries are very good, I just don't see it for them this year. Do you?

Somewhere in the tournament they are likely to face a big, tall, long, athletic backcourt duo that can make things difficult with length and quickness. Without quality big men and size to compensate for that, I can see an early tournament exit. Front Court without Skal: Poythress 6-8 230 (6-11 wingspan, so not very long for his height) and coming off injuries. Marcus Lee 6-9 224 Derrick Willis 6-9 Junior journeyman this Aussie Issac Humpries 7-0 260 If Issack Humphries is a dud and they don't have Skal they would be in big trouble come tourney time.

Also im sure it helps in recruiting if you say 20 teams send a scout to our combine every year.

Can't blame him one bit, gotta try to keep up.. Now just add the media coverage from FS1 & ESPN, then the Hoyas would be golden afterwards. Showcase what the hybrid Princeton offense is about and breakup the contradiction about being slow paced. This marketing tool would be very beneficial to the recruits.

Very good podcast with Finklestein interviewing BE coaches including JT3 about recruiting New England..
JT3 talks in depth about the sophs & Derrickson also, he loves Derrickson btw..
Being from CT I'm a little biased but I've said for awhile that G'town could/would do well by concentrating on recruiting the NE Prep schools more heavily..
JT3's part starts around the 7:30 mark..
