zagsblog.com/articles/uconn-n-c-state-xavier-latest-to-pursue-traci-carter/Life Center coach Pervis Ellison, Malik’s father, said he’d also heard from Georgetown and Virginia for Carter.
Pervis said N.C. State head man Mark Gottfried, along with coaches from Georgetown and UConn, are expected to see Carter on Saturday when Life Center plays at National Christian (Md.). Several schools will also see him Jan. 30 when Life Center visits Cheick Diallo and Our Savior New American.I think this is a very good thing!! Carter completely outplayed Jamal Murray in their head to head match-up on Monday at the Hoop Hall classic.. He was even more impressive defensively, crazy quick hands & feet.. He's a very good distributor too, probably would be long gone if not for an injury last season.. Yaboy mentioned him awhile back, not sure what took so long but better late than never.. Btw I'd take a package deal with both Carter & Ellison for the 2015 class..

Adam Zagoria @adamzagoria 2h2 hours ago Pervis said Louisville also needs a PG but that Traci Carter has to take the test before possibly getting an offer. Something to monitor.. Obviously kid can’t go on any officials until he gets a qualifying score...

I wonder how last year's Louisville PG recruit who was pretty highly regarded, Quentin Snider, feels about a legacy guy like Pervis Ellison saying Louisville "needs a PG"? I'd be fine with taking Pitino's leftovers again if Snider wanted to get out of dodge... Carter not being qualified and unable to take officials is very similar to the Marcus Lovett situation.

Yes very similar. I’m cool on Snider, he’s not playing a ton for Ville because he is having trouble guarding people on this level. Looks slow out there and he’s shooting something like 25% from the field...

Defense-wise, I think you can hide him a bit if you wanted to, but definitely a rough fit right now with Pitino's system. He was a last minute de-commit from Illinois, so will be interesting to see if he sticks it out at Louisville. #37 RSCI last year...

I think I read awhile ago, that Rodney Miller's parents are good friends with Kevin Sutton. Anyone know if this is true?

I know we aren't recruiting against UNLV this year (I think it was Morgan from last year) but this is an NBA scouts assessment of one of their players:
The thing about those Vegas guys is that if they're truly talented, they'll be better pros than they are college players. They've got zero discipline. Their coach just rolls the ball out there, and I don't say that about a lot of guys. Seriously, though...if you want to be the Runnin' Rebels, that's fine. But have a game plan. He's got 6'11" guys that can't shoot out there taking three-pointers.
Vaughn will be a good pro once he gets in a system with more structure and when he's around better players.
That is an awful assessment by a pro scout of your coaching. Holy crap.

I was doing a little internet surfing last night and it appears, at least IMO, that Malik Ellison is waiting for an GU offer. I could be wrong but he mentions us and states that, "we have not offered as of yet". So my question here is, do we get another SG/SF wing that has the capacity to grow another inch are two, who has been describe as a point forward, with a high basketball IQ and is a smooth/calm slasher to the rim? If Kaleb Johnson possess these very same abilities then I'm good, especially given the fact that we have white and Camaron that can play a little bit of both positions.

Staff is supposed to watch him again next Saturday.. Don’t know if that changed with Johnson’s commitment. We just got involved so we will see The schools actively recruiting him right now are Minnesota, Missouri, Creighton, Temple, Kansas State, UConn, Michigan, California and Maryland. All have offered except for UConn, California, Missouri and Kansas State. Ellison says that California and Missouri are close to offering. www.givengobasketball.com/ellison-and-carter-article

He's not a good 3 point shooter and at 6'5-6'6 with one-two inches of height to come will he be able to defend smaller guards. Furthermore what's our chances with the likes of Fultz, Day Day, Jones, Gibbs or Jaskson coming in next year if we grab him? Do we go big or wait and grab a true PG?

Out of those guys I would say Day Day is most likely and he’s definitely a PG even though he plays a lot off ball for St Frances…

What happened to this kid? Kid was highly regarded 18 months ago..
Since the staff was looking at Hardnette and is heavily involved with Bracey why not take a look Smith's way..
Scout has him listed in the top 5 available PG's for 2015 with Lovette, Traci Carter(get on him too), Damian Wilson & Hyron Edwards(who is from Hardy's neck of the woods)
Nych Smith may be small in height (5-foot-10), but he’s strong and tough. Smith is quick and able to break down defenders. While we list him as a lead guard, his mentality – at least on his high school team – is more to get points. He can get hot from three, is comfortable pulling up for mid-range jump shots and has a floater. He’s quick laterally and a tough kid that will compete on the defensive end as well.

Good call!.. True story was about to post something on this kid and Christian Williams SG out of Chicago last night but got sidetracked.. Wouldn’t mind the staff taking a look at all. Plays on the same team as Minnesota commit Jarvis Johnson and has had a better summer and HS season thus far. Just wish he shot it better from the perimeter. Saw recently Marquette was close to offering... He looks the part to me.. The thing that stands out to me is that he played aau with some good players this summer, kids like 2015 Jarvis Johnson(Minnesota), Alex Illiakenin(Wisconsin) & Sam Nuemann(Montana State). Seems like he played better than all of them.. It'd be nice if he shot better but his form isn't that bad so I think he can improve.. I like the fact that he finishes at the rim on his drives... He shot 9-34 from 3 in the EYBL.. www.d1circuit.com/stats/team_instance/719645?subseason=148178&tab=team_instance_player_stats&tool=985828The staff needs to get to work on rounding out the 2015 class.. Corey Evans @coreyevans_10 2h2 hours ago Pittsburgh, PA Really like the get 4 Marquette in Sacar Anim. High end scorer with good feel for the game. Should be a fun, versatile backcourt w/Cheatham Looks like another good get for Marquette
