Adam Barnard, top Hoya recruit from Tennessee, finished 5th at the NxN champs. Adam was 2nd with 500m to go, one yard behind the ultimate winner, and still 2nd about 100m to go, but you could see that he gave it his all, as he crawled across the finish line with three runners to beat him to the line. Adam has been a bit quiet this outdoor season, but over the weekend, he finished 4th in the Prefontaine meet with a PR of 4:07.18 in the HS mile.

Not many women recruits. I am sure there are others besides Audrey but looks like it will be a small class. Just as well since the jr class has some high quality talent and some with Georgetown connections, (Piper's and Andrea's sisters. Strong class in PA too.)

Another Georgetown recruit also ran in the National New Balance meet in the 800. He is Spencer Brown from CT:
M 800 METER RUN – FINALS PLACE OVERALL ATHLETE CLASS TEAM RESULT HEAT 1 1 Brazier, Donavan 12 Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills 1:47.55 1 2 2 Orange, Carlton 12 Memphis University School 1:50.74 1 3 3 Mayhew, William 12 Cheyenne Mountain High School 1:50.93 1 4 4 Morello, Connor 12 Clovis High School (CS) 1:51.90 1 5 5 Ross, Connor 12 McQueen High School 1:52.30 1 6 6 Yount, Blake 12 Smoky Hill High School 1:52.99 1 7 7 Langstaff, Josiah 12 Lincoln HS 1:53.31 1 8 8 Brown, Spencer 12 Wilton High School 1:53.94 1 9 9 Trevino, Isaac 12 Centennial High School (CS) 1:56.59 1 10 10 Sotomayor, Arturo 12 Roseville High School (SJ) 1:56.93 1
Another recruit is James Burke from Port Jefferson, NY. Brown, in addition to finishing 8th in the NB meet, has a 1:50.88 800m time (21st in the US). Conor Ross has a 1:50.75, 16th best in the US.
However, all these male recruits have not been verified by the university on guhoyas.com. Due to the track investigation, I don't know if the recruits are still coming. From the reports suspensions are possible. The 2015-16 rosters, which are listed on guhoyas.com, do not have any freshmen listed (and still no pictures of the rising sophomores). This is the case for the women rosters too, but they should not be under any penalties. I expect Audrey Belf to be on the team.

Instead of recruits at least two men,who were on the team last year, are running for other teams. Both seemed to have graduated and still have eligibility. Collin Leibold has gone to Stanford to be trained by Hoya grads, Chris Miltenberg and Liz Maloy Debole. Collin finished 13th in the NCAA 5000m this year. The other male runner is rarely seen, Tyler Anyan, who had good credentials coming out of HS, and ran a couple of XC races his first year, including the BE meet, but disappeared the rest of his years at GU. He has been reported to be going to Florida State, closer to his Georgia home.

By default here are the new men recruits this year. This is from the roster, which has just been updated (even with pictures of the sophomores). The new recruits (freshmen) are Adam Barnard, Reilly Bloomer, Spencer Brown, James Burke, Henry Smithers, and Nick Wareham. Connor Ross was not listed, although a Conor Ross is listed in the Georgetown main directory. In addition to the new frosh, there are two transfer students: Ted Foster from the University of Oregon, who is coming as a junior, and Thomas Williams from Arizona State as a grad student. So we have gone into the University of Oregon's backyard to get two recruits: Ted Foster and Reilly Bloomer, who went to HS in Eugene.

The women list just two freshmen, but they are two quality runners. As has been mentioned early, Audrey Belf is a top XC and distance runner. The surprise is Sarah Schmidt, who is from Viersen, Germany, and is an extraordinary frosh in the middle distances.

Tommy Williams, a grad transfer from ASU, is a 6'5" distance guy. His track bests: • 800: 1:55.08 • 1500: 3:51.57

Okay, now for the bad news. Connor Ross is not coming to Georgetown. He is a Mormon and opted to change to go to BYU, where all his family went, and considering what went on concerning the men's team last year, his family felt it was best to go to BYU. I am surprised that Georgetown even got him to agree to Georgetown in the first place.

More bad news. Ryan Manahan, sub 4 minute miler and 1:47 800m runner, has transferred to (of all places) Mississippi. So we have lost two high quality middle distance runners because of the shenanigans of the men's team.

Real tough news for the team, but I don't blame them for a second.

It looks as if the Hoyas are going to New England this year for the women's team.

Hopefully the women can also add New Englander Andrea Keklak's sister. She is one of the top milers in the country, 2nd as a jr in natl champs last yr. Piper Donaghu's sister, probably nation's #1 diet-mid distance recruit chose stanford over gtwn
