My bad. In my excitement about the upcoming classes I forgot the star of this year's team, DSR. It should have read pg-DSR/Tre, sg-DSR/Peak, etc.

Sharma took an early January visit to Wisconsin and the interest has taken off from there.
"Interest has picked up, especially after I took my first official visit to Wisconsin," Sharma told Rivals.com. "Illinois offered and then I talked to Florida, Indiana, Gonzaga and Creighton offered.
"I really like Wisconsin, Illinois, Vanderbilt and a few other schools. I'm talking to Creighton a lot, too. Boston College is recruiting me a lot and I like them, too. They are in the mix."

You're feelin this Sharma kid huh Yaboy? I wish the staff had made a play for him too, his recruitment is definitely taking off.. I'd like to see the staff get more involved in New England both Mass Rivals & BABC run solid programs that produce good players. Not to mention the prep schools here have a lot of young talent coming thru them in the next few years. Kansas just offered Jalen Adams from Cushing Academy, young dude is the truth for real..

thecornerthree.me/2014/01/26/hoophall-classic-recap-top-prospects-standout-performers-from-sunday-part-two/SG Kobe Eubanks (2014) – Our Savior – Undecided
A deadly shooter with a quick, consistent release, Kobe Eubanks put on an impressive performance from beyond the arc. Automatic with any shred of space, Eubanks forces defenders to honor his range, and can put the ball on the floor and make plays. He needs to add a two-dribble pull-up, and continue to improve off the ball, but Eubanks’ combination of long-range proficiency and length makes him a high-major prospect. The uncommitted senior currently holds offers from Florida, Georgetown, Miami (FL), and Pitt, with the Panthers considered to be the favorites.Has anyone heard of the staff chasing this kid? He doesn't look bad at all playing against Prime Prep..

If we've got on a shooter for '14, maybe someone on the roster who was supposed to fill that roll may not be around.

point guard, point guard, point guard I'm all for getting a guard in the 2015 class whether it's a combo or a "true" pg, I'll be good either way. Part of the reason why is that I know the staff has Tre coming in for 2014 to learn and play the point but they don't have any post type big coming in the 2014 class. After next season when Hopkins, Josh & Moses are gone, the only post type player on the roster will be Hayes.. I think a lot of Hayes but that's a big chance to take imo.. I'd take a chance on landing a Cimino or Anas Mahmoud or Michal Cekovsky or Tim Rowe or Zach Haney ect.. There are post type kids out there still and I think the staff should be doing their due diligence to see if anyone is worth it for 2014.. Truth be told I think the staff is done for 2014 and I also think it's a mistake. insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruitingon-the-trail/post/_/id/7806/getting-creative-to-finish-2014-classes1. Analyze and evaluate: At this point, odds are that programs aren’t finding a diamond in the rough that is going to come in and put up huge numbers from Day 1. That doesn’t mean good players can’t be found. The best way to find value in an over saturated market is to pinpoint the specific niche that you’re looking for. The most cohesive teams are ones that are built with a combination of dynamic playmakers and what Seth Greenberg has dubbed “blend” players -- guys who do whatever is necessary for the good of the team, and there are still plenty of those types of players to be found. Whether you’re looking for an outstanding perimeter defender, offensive ball-mover, or court-spacer the key is to know exactly what your roster needs and evaluate specifically for your system while also accounting for intangibles, like toughness and unselfishness, necessary to thrive in such a role.
The dynamic players for the team starting next year will be the versatile forwards the staff has landed, now they need to find some good role players.. insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=8425 Egyptian transplant Anas Mahmoud (Orlando, Fla./West Oaks Academy) brings a thin 7-foot-1 frame with a high degree of skill. His recruiting is intensifying as his best years are way out in front of him. His skill-to-size ratio is off the charts as he nails shots from deep and at the elbows. He can also execute some short-range drives and make impressive passes, but his biggest asset is protecting the rim with his long reach.
I just don't get how a program dying for bigs doesn't at least monitor these kids.. Very frustrating..

Yeah, I don't understand it either. Maybe it means the staff knows Trey is coming next year, and is focusing on the bigs in 2015. Not saying it's the right strategy, just speculating.

@therecruitscoop: RT @christopheepcom: 2014 Austrian big man Jakob Pöltl is currently taking official visits at California, Utah & Arizona.
I have no idea who this kid is but I still get frustrated seeing schools like Arizona turning over every rock possible in search of a big.. I would love to see that sense of urgency with the G'town staff..

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruitingon-the-trail/post/_/id/8503/best-prospects-still-on-the-boardBig men Terrell Carter (Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union) is one of the most improved players in Southern California. The 6-foot-8 center holds offers from Tulane, San Jose State and Cal State Northridge but is quickly attracting suitors from higher-level schools such as Boise State and Gonzaga because of his power, length, soft hands and willingness to play through contact. On the East Coast, 6-foot-10 center Adonis DeLaRosa (Middle Village, N.Y./Christ the King) has made a renewed emphasis to improve his conditioning and trim his 280-pound physique. He’s picked up new suitors like St. John’s, South Carolina, and Temple. Skilled bigs Anas Osama Mahmoud (Orlando, Fla./West Oaks Academy) is a 7-footer from Egypt in his first season stateside. He needs to get stronger and learn to play harder but has an undeniably high upside with his size, length, mobility, agility and instinctive skill. He’s already visited Louisville and is also being pursued by a long list of others including Auburn, Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Central Florida, NC State, Texas A&M, and Minnesota, while Florida and Kentucky have also both expressed interest. Matt Cimino (Falmouth, Me./Worcester Academy) is a 6-foot-11 sniper who has historically been best known for his 3-point range, but has shown an added post-game in his senior season. He has offers from George Washington and Tulsa along with new interest from programs such as California, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt and Indiana.

A C who is a sniper from distance??? JT3 hasn't had one. It's pick-your-poison for the defense against our offense. If the defending C does not come out, this kid can shoot unguarded or over guards. If the defending C comes out, the cutting/passing lanes open up. How's his defense? Rebounding? Is he really 6'11"? Does he play 5 or 4? Is he willing to play 5? In our offense, he'll get plenty of looks from the top of the arc.

I'm not gonna lie - I'm pretty peeved that we didn't get Nik Stauskas, given that he was coached by Nate Lubick's dad. With videos like these, it was clear Stauskas is just what our offense needs - shooting to spread the floor:
(hitting 46 threes in a row)
(shot before he went to Michigan, hitting 102 threes in 5 mins).
I think we finally are getting some of these recruits in guys like Cameron (and we previously had them in guys like J-Wall), but I think we should at least have two great shooters on the roster at all times and should recruit for that.

Yes, they were great too. I guess we can say that the coaches thought Domingo fit that role too, but he didn't pan out at all. But if you look back, we are at our most efficient when we have 1-2 players that can really spread the floor. At least Cameron still gets the defense spread out even if he hasn't hit in the way we know he can.

Very good agility and athleticism for someone so tall and young. Are we on this kid?
