Rep. Dingell becomes (tomorrow) the US representative, who has served the most time in the House in history. He is a double grad of Georgetown, getting his undergraduate degree in chemistry (YEAH!) and his law degree. Congratulations to him. www.nytimes.com/2013/06/06/us/politics/dingell-becoming-longest-serving-congressman.html?hp&_r=0There will be a story on the front page Friday about Dingell and his Georgetown days, which included three years as a letterman on a Hoya team, though I doubt few if anyone outside the Congressman knows which one. Although he is 6-3, it wasn't basketball.
Before Georgetown, Dingell was a page on the House floor. As such, he also may be the only man remaining alive to have witnessed FDR's declaration of war against Japan in person in the House chamber on 12/8/41. --Admin
