Diamond Stone -- 2015 -- C -- Young Legends 6-10 -- Whitefish Bay Dominican -- Wauwatosa, WI Stone had another tremendous outing in a win over Central IL Net Gain. Stone can obviously score and rebound and is a load to handle on the interior, but his perimeter jumper continues to improve and he also is showing more of a feel as a good outlet passer. With his vice-grip hands and ability to rebound, Stone finding his streaking guards for easy buckets will be important to give him some much-needed breaks from running the floor on every single possession. www.ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=1369

Good to read... from what I've read it looks like he'll face some good competition.

I think our new hire Sutton is an assistant with that U16 team as well. Maybe a big factor as to why he was hired, even if he isn't in an official role as a recruiter on the staff.....he is still building relationships with potential recruits.

No, I wasn't there but have a friend who does some scouting/writing who let me know. He told me Stone is pretty much the only top guy in the 2015 class playing 16u. Also said he's probably the most well rounded big in that class. He put up 22 but did miss something like 3-4 dunks this morning, for what that's worth.

Diamond Stone, 6’10”, 2015, PF/C, Young Legends One of the top players in the class of 2015 drew the most attention early in the morning on Thursday. For Stone’s game against Dream Vision, he had head coaches such as Roy Williams, Rick Pitino, Tom Izzo, Travis Ford, Buzz Williams, and Bo Ryan front and center. Stone flashed his skills for the coaches and while he struggled at times, he still finished with 22 points. He scored off put-backs, on the break, and in post-up situations. While Stone dropped weight this spring, he still has his strength which allows him to overpower opponents in a graceful manner. He didn’t connect on his jump shots in the first game, but nailed a three in his second game against DC Assault. One area that Stone will need to continue to refine as he continues to play in the 16U age group relates to his concentration. He missed on four dunks during the day which should not happen with a player his size and athletic ability. Despite the misses, all of the coaches were imagining how good he would look suiting up for them in two years. - See more at: hoopniks.com/ua-summer-jam-thursday-recap/#sthash.aFltOY4f.dpuf

Diamond Stone Coveted 2015 recruit Stone was a rock in the middle for his Young Legends squad, pouring in 22 points in a morning game with Dream Vision. With a college-ready frame and great touch around the basket, it’s easy to see why Stone is a top target for so many big programs. He shouldered the load ably, and though his midrange game could use some work, Stone boasts considerable upside. Marquette, UCLA, Illinois, Georgetown, UNC, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, Wisconsin and Duke all showed up for him. zagsblog.com/recruiting/thursdays-top-performers-in-milwaukee/

Evan Daniels @evandanielsfox 1h 3 things I learned this trip 1. D. Stone is playing his best ball. 2. C. Jeter's game is progressing 3. Paulus has no shame in his flop game m.espn.go.com/general/blogs/blogpost?blogname=ncbrecruitingon-the-trail&id=5029&src=desktop&wjbESPN 60 center Diamond Stone (Milwaukee/Dominican), who is running with the Young Legends 16U team this week at the Under Armour Summer Jam presented by NY2LA Sports, has had a number of dominating performances, including a 31-point, 12-rebound, five-block outburst on Saturday morning against the LV Prospects.
And there have been plenty of college coaches on hand to take in his strong play.
The five-star center, who is ranked the nation’s No. 4 prospect in the Class of 2015, has displayed a much better motor and is running the floor extremely well in addition to his excellent skill in the post and ability to hit shots to the 3-point arc. Stone's rebounding and shot-blocking have increased as well.
There is a big reason why the No. 1 player in the state of Wisconsin has improved his overall production.
"I have lost 23 pounds,” Stone said. “I am running the floor, blocking shots and rebounding better. I am doing everything quicker.”
Stone, who is 6-foot-10 and was previously around 252 pounds, has made himself into even more of a matchup nightmare for opponents. He scores with his back to the basket on jump hooks with either hand and can hit the 3 when trailing the play in a slow transition. He has the unique ability to both score inside and stretch the defense from the center position.
A who's who of high-major head and assistant college coaches have been in attendance at each of Stone's games this week. Stone’s list of offers is long and includes Duke, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Marquette, Indiana, Georgetown, Illinois, Florida, Maryland, Minnesota, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, DePaul, Connecticut and Arizona, among others.
His play this week has done nothing but cement those offers. Considering he is an extremely nice and approachable young man with off-the-charts upside, some serious recruiting battles will be forthcoming for this skilled center. The '15 class is loaded with Bigs who are in shape, athletic/versatile & can play..

future150.com/hs/basketball-news/diamond-stone-continuing-to-improve-3290“I want a coach that is high on me. He has to be a good coach, too. The players have to have a good chemistry, and of course, education is going to be big for me,” Stone said of the factors in his recruitment. Stone and his camp rarely speak on his recruitment, but the number of schools interested goes on and on. Arizona, UCLA, Georgetown, Indiana, and Connecticut are some others in addition to the aforementioned schools that have been tied with Stone. The recruitment has taken the backseat for the time being. For now, the star has let his game do the talking. “My post game has been the best part of my game for a long time. I’m finishing right-handed and left-handed consistently. I also think seeing my teammates on the floor and getting others involved is a strength of mine.
