Can't make the 7 hour trip to Columbia [what would my boss say about leaving before noon?], no TV because apparently you can't show the NIT on ESPN when the NCAA is on CBS, and it's to be broadcast on Sports Talk 570? What in the world is Sport Talk 570? Did 980 subtract 410 from its dial?

Pardon my ignorance. What is WWBH? Wesley Wilson Basketball & Hoops Radio? It's yours truly in the chat room as I listen to the dulcet tones of Rich Chvotkin on whatever station 980 chooses to place him.....

I think in all seriouness that 980, 570, and 1260 are all partners and so they put 980 stuff on them. 570 is the UVA sports radio and i think it's WTNT but i seen it advertised at games.

The problem is in Northern Virginia, 980 comes in great while the others do not.

I got stuck going to dinner in Baltimore last night with my future in laws after not knowing for sure whether my fiancee would be off work in time to go to the game (that prevented me from buying tickets in time.)
If I were at home this week I'd be an hour away from Columbia and I'd be at the game tomorrow night.
Is there a 570 webcast? It's a regular talk station that a friend of mine used to do a show on before he left for Richmond and then came back to DC on WMAL.

Well, congratulations, TigerHoya. She said yes...where did you end up proposing? You should've made it center court at McDonough. Then you would have had the best of all worlds. ;D

Well, congratulations, TigerHoya. She said yes...where did you end up proposing? You should've made it center court at McDonough. Then you would have had the best of all worlds. ;D She had a sales call in Annapolis Saturday morning so we hit New Carrolton about midday. Rode Metro in and had lunch at Old Ebbitt Grill and then went to the Jefferson Memorial. I proposed on the bottom set of steps on the Tidal Basin side facing the Lincoln Memorial, White House and Washington Monument. Rode to Rosslyn facing what I thought would be the prospect of walking across Key Bridge like when I was at GU since I didn't see any sign of GUTS buses running on the weekend, but we got one of the Georgetown Connection buses and got off on M Street and walked around Georgetown Park and had dinner down on M Street. We walked down Prospect and then turned to go past Wisey's to get to the front gate to walk around campus a bit. Sat in the courtyard between Healy and Dalhgren where the old college pump is and then went into Dahlgren and prayed for a few minutes. Didn't get down to the SW Quad but saw my old room in New South from the outside along with all the renovations. Got the same bus line back to a Metro stop to leave that night after hanging out in Philly Cheesesteak Factory for a while (I didn't realize they had moved out of the tiny diner building they started out in.)

Congrats Tiger! Now you have to convince her that it's a good idea to take a celebratory trip to NYC!

Congratulations. Now the real question... Will she let you get married in Dahlgren? I can tell you from experience that it is awesome. I'm Protestant and she's Catholic. Plans are right now for her home parish in the Baltimore area or the Cathedral in Baltimore where her cousin is a priest. I never finished GU so Dahlgren probably wouldn't be a possibility anyway. I may end up back there or GW for Grad School.

congrats to tiger.
back to Hoya Hoops though - this is INEXPLICAPLE that there is no tv for this game. you have got to be kidding me.
looking at the NIT bracket, - EVERY SINGLE second round game was televised except one. - Now, EVERY SINGLE quarter final game is televised except OURS.
who makes these absurd decisions?!?! Who do I have to offer a bogut-style smackdown to!?!?
I'm heated..... grrrrr...
this game HAS to be on tv...

Looks like that's right. When I clicked on the "sports" link on the 570 website, it took me to the Sportstalk 980 website. So I assume Chvotkin will still have the call. Looks like 570 has a live internet feed, too. www.wtntam570.com/main.html

TIgerHoya, how romantic and very cool. But it would have been that much more romantic if you had proposed in front of Wisey's rather than on the steps of the Jefferson Memorial. Hasn't Wisey's been there longer? ;D
