More gratifying, but still somewhat funny .......
35,000 people leaving the Carrier Dome early last Saturday -- all in denial

1. Alonzo flicking Nadav Henefeld's ear with his fingers while lined up for a free throw. 2. Iverson yelling at Othella "What, you want me to WALK it up the court?"

2001, Pauley Pavilion, game nationally televised on CBS We were sitting way up in the corner with a bunch of GU alumni and students and one of the genius students brought a CBS sign that said Can't Beat Sweetney. One of the camera guys saw this and came up during a timeout and asked us to gather around and cheer and they would show the sign coming back from commercial. So, when the guy gave us our cue, we all start yelling and the sign guy flips it over to reveal Cock Balls Scrotum. The camera guy was not pleased. Incredibly immature and didn't make GU look all that good but still the funniest thing I've ever seen at a game. I was at that game and saw that. I assumed it was the same crew that we were drinking with at Maloney's (RIP) pregame.

Jim Master trying to play man defense against David Wingate in the 1984 national semifinal.
Dickie Beal trying to bring the ball upcourt against Gene Smith in the same game.

With some perspective: Nikita's attempted game winner in the 2009 Big East Tournament against St. John's.

Signs at Georgetown-UConn games in 2007-2008:
"Roy will Tha-beet your ass"
"Jim Calhoun supports global terrorism"
Also the "Hoyas against domestic violence" sign that got confiscated against a Syracuse team with Devendorf coming off suspension in 2009.

I was in the men's room at the Dome last week and a guy in a Hoyas tshirt was getting razzed about having "crap" on his shirt, etc. One of the Su fans then said "actually my girlfriend goes to Georgetown". To which the Hoya fan replied "she must be great in bed then". Even the orangeboy fans cracked up.

We played SJU when they were #1, my Sr. year in HS, and all the SJU fans were raising their middle fingers and cheering "We are #1..."
The Hoya fans responded with a "We are not from Queens!" cheer that pretty much convinced me to attend GU.

My personal favorite...
We were at Verizon to watch the Hoyas beat up on West Virginia back in the Pittsnogle era. While in the men's room at halftime I taunted a group of Mountaineers fans by announcing to the room: "Hey, West Virginia fans. Allow me to introduce you to what we call 'indoor plumbing'".
One guy was so mad that he shoved me against the wall and started cussing and causing a scene. I talked him down by pointing out that he should not swear in front of children. He then went on with his "business".
When I was waiting for a buddy outside the bathroom the same WVU fan came up to me. He apologized for being so angry and for swearing in front of the kids. Handshakes and apologies.
As we split up he asked me where he could smoke a cigarette. I pointed to a door and told him to just walk outside through that door to go to the Verizon Center Smoker's Lounge.
He did.
It was a a fire exit and the door closed and locked behind him.

A Craig Esherick inspired moment when he sank a last second half court shot to tie the game against George Washington. Big John jumped in the air and ran around the court and actually shook hands with the ref and a bewildered Bob Talent-- GW head coach. Gtown easily won in overtime. This is the most excited by far I have ever seen JT at a game.

Hall gradually losing his marbles while Kentucky disintegrated in the 1984 semi in Seattle. Also, back in the day Seton Hall had a pretty good player named Andre McCloud, who was from the D.C. area. His family sat way up in the rafters at USAir, waving crayon-drawn posters with clouds on them. They went nuts everytime he scored (I think he went for about 18 points), and you could hear them because nobody was in the place. SH lost by about 30. Funny but kind of touching.

How are we on page 2 with no one bringing up Charlie Daniels?
EDIT : whoops, BubbleVisionBiff got this on page 1, now I'm wondering why the thread didn't just shut down at that point.
