Jerelle Benimon would not have had eligibility to play at Georgetown had he stayed because he would have graduated. There's really no discussion to be had. I wish him the best.

I have always appreciated the civility of this board, but come on, there was nothing about the original post that warranted admin intervention, regardless of the posters alleged past. The fact the Jerelle wouldn't have been eligible anyway makes the point that the Poster has no credibility.

We already had this same conversation last year. Do we have to do it again? The kid developed nicely after transferring to a mid-major school. He's had a nice career there and I think most would be happy for the former Hoya. But the fact remains that he was pretty atrocious is his time here. Can we move on from Benimon?

When he was here, he was THE WORST. I'm glad he has thrived elsewhere, though.

Guy is tearing it up for Towson. Could really use him and it's unfortunate. Bilas thinks he's NBA ready.BTW- The registration process for this site is so prohibitive. Need to move to the 21st century. Just two cents.....not trying to flame. Bilas is not a very good talent evaluator. Smooth talker but if you actually listen to what he says he would likely be a Matt Millen type front office guy if he ever made that jump.

11 points on 3-8 from the field with 5 turnovers and 6 rebounds against that noted Big Man School Villanova. Meh. By the way, there is already a discussion on him, that is ongoing and predates this one, on Pro & College.

He learned to shoot. He'd be totally useful to us now, but he didn't learn until he left.
He got a ton of playing time with the Hoyas and left anyway. He plays against crappy competition and blows them up, but he's wildly undersized, totally reliant on getting fouls calls, turns the ball over too much. He's not a real NBA prospect no matter what Draft Express or Jay Bilas says. Not by a smart team at least.
But he did learn to shoot -- something he couldn't do while on the Hoyas.

I watched a bit of Towson's Nova and Temple games. He still turns it over and makes faces. I saw the same old loose dribbling, forced passes, and inclination to travel in the lane that I thought he would out grow. Turns out it wasn't just the Georgetown/Princeton offense that held him back.

@ njhoya78
What I am saying is that he is more athletic than Lubick...
Yea he makes turnovers...does that mean he is worst option than Lubick??
Lubick is not a scorer and it not that athletic.

The Jerrelle Benimon who left Georgetown would have been a downgrade from the Nate Lubick we had at that point. That is why Jerrelle CHOSE to leave.
