Also, across the bottom at ESPN, Benimon is 3rd in country in rebounding. Amazing turnaround for him. I also wish him well.

Benimon may win CAA Conference POY. I think it speaks well that JTIII and staff were wise enough to regognize his potential in HS, but unfortunate that they weren't able to cash in on that wisdom this year when we could really use the help in the post/on the boards. Putting up those types of numbers on such a consistent basis, even in a midmajor conference (although the CAA is no SWAC) is impressive no matter how you cut it.

Benimon would be getting the same number of minutes nor would the offense be focused around him as it is at Towson. Many guys have the talent to put up these kind of numbers, they just dont get the touches to do it.

Otto Porter was the last member of his class to commit to Georgetown. Whittington committed a month earlier. The other three commitments were in the fall. So if Benimon doesn't transfer, one of those two would not be on our roster, and it's very likely that Porter, the last of the two to commit would be elsewhere.

Agreed jgalt, that minutes/touches are important to note in compassion. However, I contend that if Benimon were (hypothetically) on our roster, that he would produce better than our current 5. With the benefit of hindsight, I think most reasonable folks at this moment would pick Benimon over Hopkins if they had the option. i also do not think if Hopkins were at Towson this year (granted, as a true sophomore vs redshirt jr JB) would have the same level of production as Benimon.
Also, TBird, I agree that the Benimon departure freed up space for Porter, which is a clear net positive. that's why I'm not saying that the staff should have bent over backwards for him to stay. As I've mentioned before, I supported Benimon's transfer at the time and was confident that we were upgrading with the incoming recruiting class. Most posters on the board agreed. Looking back, that confidence has yet to pan out. That said, I imagine that if the staff had a crystal ball back in 2010-11 to know what kind of player JB would end up and also the collective underwhelming performance of our current crop of bigs, i think our coaching staff would find a way to make it work. But since that's unrealistic, i'm not tossing blame on anyone. that's why i simply used the term "unfortunate."

Benimon is 6'6 so it isn't as easy as picking Benimon over Hopkins, if we had that option. Benimon would be 7-8th man even now for Georgetown averaging single-digit points and single-digit rebounds. That said, glad for him finding an opportunity with Towson...they don't have much going for them, so his development is clearly a high-point for that program.

Vee and Jerrelle were two players that III wouldn't work with who clearly has talent, just hot BE talent.

III worked Jerrelle into the rotation from game one. He was the first one off the bench in his first game. Furthermore, who on this board wanted him to get more playing time than he got while at Georgetown?

Yes, with honors if you can believe it. Re-read your post. It makes no sense as written nor is it factually accurate (the decipherable parts, that is). See Ed's post above. Moving on ...

as usual, you are clueless.
Benimon worked out last summer with Dennis Rodman to improve his skills which were not developed by III. He told Dennis that he wasn't give any instructional help for anything outside the Hoya system

Or flaunting either one of them.

Good for Jerrelle; glad to see him playing successfully.
Favorite Rodman moment: when the city of Newport Beach changed its noise ordinances because of his parties.
A couple other "fun" quotes printed about the Worm from papers over the years:
"His former oceanfront home in Newport Beach could have been mistaken for a police substation. The police were called there 80 times, mostly to quell raucous parties. Rodman arrived for his 40th birthday party by helicopter — which landed illegally on the beach. His 47-foot speedboat, Sexual Chocolate, was towed when he docked it at another person's slip in Newport Harbor. "
and one from "that bar that all my high school friends still go to":
"A woman who alleged former NBA star and part-time Newport Beach resident Dennis Rodman spanked her in a Dana Point bar has declined to move forward with the case and has refused to press charges, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Friday. The woman, whose name has not been released, filed a sexual battery complaint against Rodman Sept. 16. She alleged Rodman slapped her on the buttocks at Hennessey’s Tavern in Dana Point. The woman dropped her complaint against Rodman earlier this week, said Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department."
