Senior year Roy. If I'm drafting a team, centers like Roy will be harder to find and have a bigger drop in talent. Jeff was great but there are a lot of Jeffs compared to Roys.

Jeff was a hell of a college center, though. Our offense was a thing of beauty when Roy would go to the bench and Jeff would slide over. Remember, everyone though Sheldon Williams was the best center in the nation when Jeff torched him in 2006.

Jon Wallace's 3 pointer against UNC was the best season of any JTIII Hoya.

I give the nod to Hibbert because he stayed all four years.
Can you imagine Otto as a senior?

Jeff. I believe he's the only Hoya to be named BE POY and an all-American (albeit 3rd team) in the III era. I'm not sure I have seen a more fluid, graceful big guy ever.
If Otto stays, he has the potential to equal Jeff. But I personally would take junior-year Jeff over soph-year Otto, though making that choice would be a heck of a nice problem to have.
Roy, Greg M and Jon definitely belong in the conversation. You can make a case for any. Personally, I'd take Greg over Roy if I had to choose one but, again, nice problem to have. I think to some extent we love Roy because he loved us and we watched him evolve from being pretty bad to being excellent, and he was "ours" for four years.
Man, a senior-year Greg, senior-year Jeff or senior-year Otto sure fuels the imagination.
Loved Chris, who also evolved but ultimately was undone by injuries early and late. Austin was undone by illness. He was never quite the same player, I thought, as he seemed to be just before. My personal favorite? Jon, followed by Jason. But I'm going on more than basketball with respect to those two.

It is a team sport. Best team player: J-Wall. J-Wall made Jeff and Roy more possible. Hoya Saxa, let's keep this momentum on!

Jeff. I believe he's the only Hoya to be named BE POY and an all-American (albeit 3rd team) in the III era. I'm not sure I have seen a more fluid, graceful big guy ever. I don't even consider Jeff a true big considering he was a 6-8 tweener. Roy, Greg and Henry are true bigs. Heck, Nate too. But Jeff was a guy who was just as comfortable on the perimeter and may ahve spent most of his minutes outside the paint due to the scheme. Thus in my mind he doesn't count as a big. With that said....you never "seen a more fluid, graceful big"? Really? I know you don't watch any NBA but goodness you must have at least seen a lot of college basketball. The two best sophs under III have been Greg and Otto. I can only imagine what Greg would have been like as a junior and alas I may have to do the same for Otto. In my opinion if it was a more fair measurement with ALL of the guys staying four years (including Summers) I would put my money on Monroe being the guy who would have been the best. I'd give Jeff the edge I suppose because he did stay one more season than Greg, his teams were better and he did win BEPOY. If I had to do a ranking... 1)Jeff 2)Roy (stayed all four years and made First Team All Big East twice and Second All Big East once) 3)Greg 4)Otto (rising fast) 5)Austin Chris and Brandon would be the next two followed by Jon, Pat and DaJuan. Guys like Markel and Nate have a chance to crack the top ten down the road. and if Greg Whitt gets his act together the sky is the limit for him.

Fixed. It is a team sport. Jeff and Roy allowed J-Wall to get open looks. Hoya Saxa, let's keep this momentum on! [/size]

It's gotta be Jeff. But if the question is who was JTIII's greatest success, it has to be Roy, because of how crazy scary good he became by his senior year. It is amazing how players prosper when they stick around for four years -- especially the bigs. Had Jeff stuck around for his senior year and led us to a national championship, he might have had this title as well.
Otto is great, but he's not in the conversation for me. Not yet -- he has to earn it.
Greg wasn't around long enough to be the "best."
