So Dickerson must have been a given to the staff right Blue? I know I felt that way, if Dickerson went elsewhere that would have stung badly.. Can't express enough how happy I am with the latest recruiting news.. I consider myself a hard marker when it comes to recruiting and the staff has far & away exceeded my expectations.. Broadus, Hardy & Sutton deserve all the accolades given to them but I have to give JT3 a big hand also.. Now reel in Trier & Mann or Reaves & Mann and you'll see me making my 1st visit to a Kenner league game next summer.. Dickerson was down to two schools for the last several months (the Hoyas and Duke). He got tired of waiting on Duke, understood that commitments were imminent for the Hoyas (egbunu/govan) and made his decision. The staff was confident but it wasn't like it was a sure thing. This all worked out for the best. Govan has great upside and we have waves of frontline players that can present problems for opposing teams in any number of ways. What I like most is how selective we can be with our last two schollies. We are looking at a class with 5 top 100 players and a possible top 5 '15 class. Any insight into what this commitment may mean for Egbunu? Is that ship sailed with Dickerson and Govan now in the fold, or would he still be welcomed considering that he's a different type of player?

Well if all these incoming players are as good as advertised, i wonder if we will see a bigger rotation of players. If we do get Trier/Mann/Bacon indeed, then there is a big pool of talents. But JT3 has been notoriously using a small rotation with their starting 5 playing excessively a lot of minutes. Wonder how this will shake out.

Bring in Crawford and one of Trier/Reaves and we have a top 100 kid in every position for 2015. That would be just incredible. Rabb/Labisserie/Comanche would be great too, but the focus has to be on guards now. If one of those guys wants to come to the Hilltop, I'm sure we find a scholarship somewhere. Love what the staff is doing. Recognized that they were shooting for the stars too much, and now are looking at getting in early on risers. While it would be nice if we could have the pick of the litter like UA, UCLA, Duke, Kansas, UK, UNC, the fact is we simply don't have that rep. But of the remaining schools, we are clearly one of the hottest destinations. And frankly, I'm not sold on the one and done types anyways. Very excited for the next few years. We're almost at the point where we have all starting Top50 players! Other then that point, great post and I agree with all you said.

I used to check the recruiting page once or twice a week; now I feel like I have to check every hour just to keep up! Great, great job by the whole staff. Fun times are coming!

Tre trying to get his first assist for GTown?? What is Allonzo trying to say? That the Hoyas are taking the next two years and that front court seriously? Or that the backcourt isn't going to get any free reign? I'm assuming the first. Tre bring him in!! If we're getting Trier, its going to be more then just the coaches recruiting.

If he plays a limited rotation with the guys he is bringing in he will be dealing with Maryland-Turgeon level transfers (albeit for differet reasons). He better play ten (at least) and learn to love with it/deal with it. Also he has no reason, except in special circumstances, to go small often going forward.

Man, UCONN and Cuse fans are rather whiny right now.
"We dodged a bullet" etc.
"Didn't want to him anyway"
"No vertical at all"

If kids are talented enough to see the court they will..

Wow, this is completely unexpected and just tremendous news. Way to go coaching staff! This is the true Center to complement the rest of the frontcourt that is absolutely stacked starting next year: Copeland, White, Derrickson, Dickerson and Govan will be able to compete against every team in the country. Not to mention having guys like Cameron and Hayes who have a chance to give productive minutes. Wow...unbelievable job by the staff.

Do not sleep on Mourning. The kid has potential. Also do not rule out White playing the 2 or 3 some.

Well, I mean, if you insist--I'll just sit here and giggle about how loaded we would be if Mourning turns into a quality stretch four as a sophomore (or even as a junior), allowing us to play Paul White as a SG.

This link has video of the full game for anyone interested. Watching that game was painful as all AAU games are. God the coaches of these major universities must be pulling their hair out watching these games just roll a ball out there type coaching What I liked from Govan is that he is massive has broad shoulders and looks like he could have a Dwight Howard type frame if he really worked hard in the gym. His right hook is cash money. The one thing and maybe becuase its AAU just didnt seem into it in the 1st half. Maybe because he was getting great position and they didnt throw him the ball. But I was awfully impressed Cheikh Diallo is super athletic and he could do nothing with Govan in the blocks.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruitingon-the-trail/post/_/id/10278/scouts-take-jessie-govan-to-georgetown[ b]How the class is shaping up: [/b]Thompson and his staff couldn’t be off to a much better start having put together what is bound to end up as one of the best incoming frontcourt trios in all of 2015 recruiting class, and done so nearly two months before the summer evaluation period even begins. Dickerson is an ESPN 60 center and wide-body inside the paint who has the potential to form a twin towers-type duo with Govan in the future. Derrickson is another wide-body, but much more skilled than either of his counterparts and equally capable of operating inside and out from either forward position. Combine that trio with the incoming 2014 class and the Hoyas look to be loaded down the line. Isaac Copeland adds length, versatility, and athleticism to the forward positions while Paul White provides another skilled forward and strong passer. L.J. Peak provides power, athleticism and plenty of scoring punch. Put it all together, and the Hoyas are going to be young, talented and very big across their entire lineup for the foreseeable future. Who he reminds us of: Govan is a little bit of a throwback in that there aren’t many true centers anymore who can provide a consistent low-post scoring presence with their back to the basket. In terms of recent names, he’s actually got some similarities to Jahlil Okafor in that he’s a true post-player who is becoming a better athlete, very difficult to stop in single coverage, and very adept at establish angles and seals on the interior. [/i] The "twin towers" reference is a little over the top imo but a solid write up nonetheless..
