Would it still be possible to sign Raab/Comanche/Skaal/Other top 50 center type if we got Govan to commit on his visit? Could we sign him now (bird in the hand) and still add another top big guy? Or would Govan committing end those pursuits? (This, of course, is all theoretical). I think that depends if we are still in on Dickerson. If he is still a top target, a Govan commitment might lessen the chances of some of those other guys. I assume the rest of the 15 class is 2 bigs and two guards. Maybe a wing also if the staff really feels like Ike could go after one year. But like folks always say, keep recruiting top talent and let it sort itself out.

Rabb isn't going to be scared off by anyone. The other guys...maybe, but after watching our front court last year, does anyone really want to slow play a four star center in hopes of signing a five star?

There's no room for sensibility on this board! Yes, if Govan wants to commit, you absolutely take him.

I agree that if Govan wants to commit we should definitely take him.
However, if we bring in Mourning and then another five man class in 2015 (possibly including Derrickson and Govan), we would have ten scholarships tied up in two classes.... just something to think about for the longer term

The best continually load up on talent and the situation always works itself out. Keep pounding the pavement.

I say lets build on the talent. Once we get these very talented kids in, lets stay with that caliber of players if not better.

Commanche vs Govan. Who do you take? Does taking one stop us from the other? Both seem to me to be pure 5's unlike Rabb or Skal who can play some PF.

Chance. And, he can play well with any of the other big men we're recruiting with maybe the exception of S.L. Chance is perfect for a JT3 offense. He can play the 4...which will be his pro position.

Egbunu averaged 7 and 6 as a freshman, you would have him in your program practicing playing against and with other HM players while Govan will be playing against HS’rs. He’s older more mature, Egbunu would be the better situation. That’s not a knock on Govan he can be a great player but Egbunu is further along… not really fair to compare the two tbh

Egbunu has a 40 inch vertical and Govan is more of a plodder...think Hayes.

Hayes does have a really high vertical from what I'm told but he does look like a plodder when he's out there.

MBB: $cout also quotes 2015 6-10 C Jesse Govan (NY), saying ND's interested. UConn, G'town, Seton Hall, Miami recruiting him the hardest.
