can't wait for this kid to hit campus. he'll give us the low post game of josh and the athleticism of hop. I agree with the first sentence, but not necessarily the second. Jessie has a very nice low post game, but much different than Josh's low post game. He has a nice array of moves, but doesn't even come close to Josh's power. Jessie will need to hit the weights and adjust for the physicality allowed by Big East refs. Jessie is a pretty good athlete for someone his size, but not as athletic as Mikael. But I do agree in a couple years he will have a nice blend of power and athleticism. The most important aspect of his game, however, is the ability to shoot out to 17 feet. We could really use that this year in a big...

With the caveat that I have not actually seen Jessie play, if his development trajectory mirrors where Ochefu is now compared to Ochefu the freshman I will be very pleased.

One thing you have to really like is how his body has continued to develop since last summer. He looks like he has dropped 15-20 pounds of baby fat, and his frame is very similar to freshmen Zo and Big Sky Shelton. He needs to put the weight back on as muscle, though, because I fear he will be somewhat over matched as a Big East post without it.

I think what HoyaFanny was trying to say is that he will be a big body down low on offense that can actually score and a solidifying defensive force in the middle. He won't be the best of both Josh and Hopkins, most NBA bigs aren't even that, but he will bring some solid attributes of both of those players in one package.
I am very excited to have Govan, Derrickson, and Agau as our front court next year (and Hayes! thanks Dan). Add in minutes at the 4 by PW and Ike and I like what we see.

At the risk of inciting a riot, I think Hayes will be able to provide 5-10 a game as needed next year, assuming he puts in the work this summer.

Paradoxically, I feel that Jesse is going to find the college game liberating. He had 5-6 inches on the competition yesterday, his team was not good at making an entry pass, and the moment that he got the ball he would have 4 guys hacking at the ball and getting away with a lot.
He feels like one of those players who fits really well with other good players.
Another thing that I liked is that late in a close game he wanted the ball on the inbounds pass because he wanted to take the free throws.

I was more encouraged by Hayes's three minutes against Creighton than by anything else I had seen from him all season. Granted, that may be a very low barrier to surmount, but still. . . . There is absolutely no downside to giving Hayes those 5-10 minutes in the November and December OOC segment of the 2015-2016 schedule against those juggernauts from the Northeast, Southland and Colonial conferences. Let's see what he can do, and then we'll know whether he can contribute when the games really matter in January and beyond. Besides, we need new material for the Bradley Hayes thread.

The question is the depth chart at 5.
Is Bradley the starter, the backup, or 3rd string?
That is how you start the riot.

You have to be impressed by his passion for the game & his team!! The front-court should be skilled & interchangeable in the coming seasons..

With the postgame tears of joy wiped away, a grateful Govan said helping Wings to its first ever city championship was a dream come true.
“It was crazy. I couldn’t even believe it,” the 6-foot-11 Govan said of his emotional moment on the court after the game. “When the final buzzer went off, I couldn’t believe we could call ourselves PSAL city champs. It was surreal.”
Georgetown coach John Thompson III, whose team lost to Xavier in the Big East semis, called to congratulate Govan after the game.
“He said congrats and to keep working,” Govan said. “He wants me ready from Day 1.”
It looks like all three, oops all four will be ready from day one! :-)

Seems like this happens each year with Hoya recruits, but I have in the last month read articles where this kid is listed as 6'9",6'10" and now 6'11". Can someone who has actually seen him beside a comparable size player give his correct height.
