Is Wagner actually any good or should we have won by much more? For instance we won 24-10 last year @ Wagner.

It is tough to know this early but Wagner did hold a full scholarship IA team to 7 points in Florida last week. I expect them to be much improved on the basis of first two defensive efforts. If we had struggled to score on davidson too i would be worried. Should have starting qb back next week.

Just got back from the game and through the tornado-like, crazy winds on the Key Bridge (apparently ~70mph gusts) - never a good feeling when the bridge is a rocking and you're on it ...
Anywho- Wagner, I thought, had better athletic talent than us but we just seemed to put things together. Their DL manhandled our OL at times which surprised me as I thought we'd be one of the better in PL (this may a sign of what schollies brings). Their RB was quick and elusive and I'm surprised they didn't hit the I formation more as they had some decent success with that against us. Aiken played pretty well with some good decisions to pull on our read option plays but other times he should have pitched it when we ran the real option. That said, lots of drives were aided by some yellow laundry. Aiken passing wise was a bit behind on several passes leaving many WR/TEs to get clobbered. I guess he rushed these passes, but when the front 7 was pressuring him so much, I'm not really surprised. I doubt we'll see a better interior DL than Wagner the rest of the year. The center and guards looked terrible at times b/c of that talent. Logan and Campanello looked great too as a one-two punch at RB.
Generally, the better coached team made the plays to win. The roughing the punter call was a head scratcher as no one near me saw it. Maybe the punter sold it well.
On to Yale!

The crowd was clearly into the game with a good mix of students, parents and former players. Wagner's skill players seemed a bit better then the Hoyas. Nevertheless i would bet that we won the time of possession and stayed focused even after some adversity.

Wagner does have schollies. They were big and had a lot of athletes too. Our boys played hard, O Line looked VERY good, giving qb time in the pocket and opening holes in running game. After the first series our D shut down the Wagner O who's qb was 26 and a former minor league cather for the KC Royals.
Wagner has 36 scholarships. The NEC is moving to 40 scholarships by 2014.--Admin

Generally, the better coached team made the plays to win. The roughing the punter call was a head scratcher as no one near me saw it. Maybe the punter sold it well. Well, now we know why no one saw the roughing the punter call. It wasn't actually a roughing the punter call. Better coached team indeed: As part of the latest push to improve player safety, the NCAA this offseason banned players from leaping over blockers in an attempt to block punts. So when the flag came out late in Georgetown’s home opener against Wagner on Saturday, Hoyas Coach Kevin Kelly knew the call right away.
Seahawks senior Jerome Williams had attempted to hurdle the wall of blockers protecting Georgetown punter Matt MacZura, and the personal foul call sent the Hoyas back onto the field and set up MacZura’s 35-yard field goal with 1 minute 42 seconds left, giving Georgetown a 13-10 victory at Multi-Sport Field.
Wagner “actually did it last week, and [the officials] didn’t call it,” Kelly said. “I’m glad they did this week.”
