Alex Galindo's High School Coach is none other than Dan Hurley, the former Seton Hall Pirate, and of the famous Jersey Hoop family. He had some comments to Insiders.Com on Alex's visit to Georgetown
"It's a great university. It's a lot different than some of the other places. I think he was impressed. Obviously Georgetown has great tradition. They're not where they were for some time since John Thompson's era, but I think he really liked JT III and loved the university".
Coach Hurley added he will give Alex until Monday to make a decision and he'll have him call up every school and thank them for their interest. I feel that is pretty classy from Dan and he impressed me with how he's maintained out of the picture while still helping his player.
Let's hope we get lucky and add what could be a signature recruit to the New JT ERA!!

It sounds like this thing is wide open and that Alex has a tough decision. I like the fact that he walks away impressed by JT3/program and the University itself. I think JT3 also did well to convey a sense that GU is different from the others on the list.
I am being positive, but I like our chances and feel that they are as good as they could be given the competition for Mr. Galindo.
Anyway, thanks for your report, RDF. Look for this thing to be decided by early next week.

Thanks for the info, but I'll be stunned if this kid picks us over Kansas. That would be a major upset.

Thanks for the info, but I'll be stunned if this kid picks us over Kansas. That would be a major upset. Keep your fingers crossed and don't sell GU short, Galindo did pick UTEP ahead of everyone the first time he chose a school. I love the approach JT III used by mentioning our differences and trying to make it a strength, instead of a negative. That is what the good ones do and while everyone who coaches try to sell their program, some lack in being convincing. Obviously the message got across because Coach Hurley mentioned it as well as Alex Galindo. So this is another positive with JT III and his staff. Keep up the good work and let's get Galindo!
