His Team Philly coach, Lonnie Lowry, said Baylor, UCLA, Maryland, Georgetown, Marquette and Florida have been heavily involved with the 6-foot-6, 175-pound small forward out of Philly Imhotep Charter since his decommitment.
“Those schools have all really, really, really showed the most interest, so it’s going to be up to him to pick a few schools that he wants to go ahead and visit,” Lowry told SNY.tv. “Maryland and Georgetown are pretty close [to Philly].”
Austin himself mentioned a slew of other schools that showed interest, including Ohio State, Kentucky, UConn, Temple, Syracuse, Rutgers, Xavier and Tennessee.
“I’m going to sort that out next week,” Austin said of his list. “I want to visit Syracuse, Florida, Georgetown and UCLA.”
After watching more of this kid it seems that he shares PG duties on his HS team that has won state 2 years in a row. In the title game he had 13, 13 reb 4assists 3 steals. With his length and athleticism there’s no reason to believe he couldn’t be a plus perimeter defender.

The former Penn State commit had quite the productive summer. He has point forward skills, dazzling ball skills, and is a quick athlete. If he develops a consistent jump shot out to the stripe and learns to play with more assertiveness on each and every possession, his upside is tremendous

The 6-foot-6, 175-pound small forward out of Philly Imhotep Charter will take an unofficial to Providence Sept. 8 and to Georgetown Sept. 10, his AAU coach, Lonnie Lowry, told SNY.tv.
