He's got some off the court issues that aren't so hot. The type of stuff that we would be sure to point out and mock if he were suiting up for the Orange or Huskies.

that's very true KG... can't defend that. But I like him, whether he plays 1 minute per season or several.

And it is all about perspective. With JTIII i feel like he's being given a chance. With SU or UCONN...it'd be more like "so what?" can he play?

Dc sent Durant to UT, so why not complete the trade and take this Dallas kid on the Hilltop. His character might not be as good as Kevin's , but ?

Not worth the baggage. Hate losing the high ground. Agreed. It's not like this is JTII giving a kid from a troubled past a chance. We're talking about a kid from Highland Park here. I know that may sound a little harsh, but I have zero sympathy for people who drink and drive.

We are talking about a walk on who is going to be getting fewer minutes than Caprio right? There is no high ground lost. (And some of you may remember I was very critical of Freeman when he had similar issues last year)

I'll give a guy (including Austin) one strike on a DUI. But, if it happens while the kid is a Hoya, whether scholarship or walk-on, there should be a suspension of meaningful length.
That said, Allen impressed a bit today with his quickness and fearlessness. I can see him as a useful practice player. He's definitely small but his instincts looked decent considering he's a walk-on.

HoyaTalk posters have never lived in glass houses, even when they were seniors in high school.

HoyaTalk posters have never lived in glass houses, even when they were seniors in high school. Amen to that. Assuming that this kid was punished and did not receive any special treatment (and I have seen or read nothing to suggest anything to the contrary), I see no reason to prevent him from attending the university and walking on to the program. His desire to play for the Hoyas as a walk-on given his recent arrest guarantees that he will receive more adverse publicity than a non-athelete arrested for the same crime.
