Has anyone heard anything about a guard walking on this year? I am somewhat removed from program but was told there might be a PG type walking on the team for the South or Texas? Anyone heard anything?

Just in..... The new walk on is Nerlens. He decided not to reside in the Blue Grass state. He prefer to reside in the Chocolate City.

Seems like there should be a higher level of interest in this thread. I realize the "walk-on" tag keeps most people from considering an addition of any significance rotation-wise, but... If this is a 6'4 guard w/ some (any?) D-1 offers, couldn't this be someone who might actually see the court for a couple of minutes here and there?
Our backcourt doesn't currently project anybody eating up Jason/Chris/Austin type minutes. Hopefully Markel takes that next step to upperclassman leader, Greg can defend against quicker 2's, Jabril fits in an expanded role, and DSR is as good as most people hope he can be.
But I can envision some scenarios (negative ones, I guess) where a guy comes in like Benimon or Nikita and gets more time than anyone suspected.
p.s. ... No, I can not make heads or tails of Lic's "go flock of Birdies" comment.
I dunno. Maybe we're just talking run-of-the-mill walk-on. Sounds like more than that, though. Any more info? PM if necessary.

Um most walk ons have "D1" offers. if he had high major D1 offers that would be news. Caprio had D1 offers I'm sure. They were just places like NJIT. Having a D1 offer doesn't mean much with out knowing how good of a team the offer was from.

If Aaron Bowen can't get off the bench, I think we should temper any expectations of playing time for this mystery walk-on.
