6. Two Way Recruiting Battle Heating Up For Bryant Crawford Indiana and Georgetown are turning up the heat on junior point guard Bryant Crawford. Standing at 6’1”, Crawford is currently the No. 28 prospect and top-rated point guard in the class of 2015. He is coming off a strong sophomore season at Gonzaga High School in Washington D.C. where he replaced current UNC freshman Nate Britt and led his team to an undefeated regular season in the famed Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC). Georgetown and Indiana are making the push for Crawford John Thompson III and Georgetown have taken advantage of having the WCAC right in its backyard and currently feature two players in their starting line-up (Markel Starks and Mikael Hopkins) from local Catholic schools. Tom Crean and Indiana also have shown a strong interest in players from the WCAC including freshman guard Stanford Robinson and All-American Victor Oladipo. At the USA Developmental Camp in Colorado Springs Crawford sat out recovering from a torn meniscus. Despite the injury, Crawford noted that “Indiana is coming at me the hardest. I hear from them the most.” While Indiana is making Crawford a top priority, John Thompson is fighting to protect his home turf. The Hoyas stopped by Crawford’s high school several times over the past month including once this week. - See more at: rushthecourt.net/2013/10/18/seven-sweet-scoops-big-blue-madness-visits-for-top-10-recruits-georgetown-vs-indiana/#sthash.0G8D7lTa.dpuf

Very different schools and experiences so if it comes down to us vs. them, it depends on if the kid likes the small metro campus closer to home or the large public university feel of Bloomington. He also would have to put up with crean's twitter bible verses (talk about creepy) and the fact that he huffs diet coke and can't develop bigs to save his life so it would likely be a glorified AAU team approach on O.

It's hard to believe Indiana has been coming harder at him than Georgetown at any point over the last two years.
He's been priority number one for this staff for years and while we've had our fair share of disappointments on the trail, this one would really, really, really sting.

Personally, I think what Markel does this year will have a big impact on this young mans recruitment. If Markel explodes and get drafted it would be huge. GU has sent an impressive array of forwards/centers to the league under JTIII but no impact guards that I can think of. If you want a top flight guard to join you, you need to show him the path to success goes through GU.

No guards to the NBA since Iverson. I agree that Markel will be key, but so will DSR... The piece of the puzzle needed is a big in that class. There are few of scholarships available so it would be awesome to add Crawford.

Rumors circulating that Duke is about to offer... Kentucky is also sniffing as well - everyone knows how important PG is in Coach Cal's system This would be a home-run if we land him, but looking unlikely.

www.theintentionalfoul.com/Bryant Crawford, 6’2”, PG, 2015, Gonzaga It was a forgettable shooting day for junior guard Bryant Crawford in the windy city as he went 1-11 from the field and finished with five points. Crawford settled for deep jump shots throughout the game despite his ability to get into the lane against St. Rita’s. On two possessions in the half court set, Crawford exploded to the basket and got to the rim on one dribble. He also attacked the right side well when coming off a pick and roll. Despite the trepid shooting performance, Crawford did register 10 assists and had numerous nice looks to teammates in the half court as well as transition.

He has had a really rough year. In what way? I'm not in the DC area, so not able to really follow the local recruits.

He has had a really rough year. In what way? I'm not in the DC area, so not able to really follow the local recruits. Averaging below 9ppg, dealing with injuries, Gonzaga losing tons, and the fact that his shot has been horrible all season… He’s always going to be a high level distributer and good defender but his shot hasn’t been close to good enough to keep defenses honest...
