His recruitment felt so much like Chris Wright's -- locked into the ACC -- that I was hoping it'd end that way. Unfortunately, Danny Manning isn't likely to get fired before next year.
It's not entirely too early to worry about the 2015 class. Govan and Derrickson are going to be very good, but unless Rabb commits, it doesn't look like another Fall commit is all that likely (with signing less than two months away). That's not a disaster -- both in that it's a good class to begin with and that we've had decent spring success recently. But it'd been nice to sign a guard and it'd been nice to get a 3-4 man class comprised of Top 100 or close players to back to back with the 2014 class.

People on these boards have some seriously unrealistic expectations for DSR. You think its unrealistic for him to have a year comparable to last year, which by most accounts was pretty damn good?
No. But people thinking he might leave early for the league? That he might be a first round pick ever? That he's a top 15 guard in the country?

I agree with PoD here - DSR is good, but he is not THAT good. he has put up those numbers against bad competition in BE last year. Before even mentioning his departure to league, he needs to first prove that he is better than other former Hoya guards such as Austin and Wright, who put up better numbers against better competition.

Don't want to derail this thread, but just because he's not an NBA prospect doesn't mean he isn't one of the top 15 guards in the country. I don't think you can name 15 who put up better numbers in college than DSR did last year.

DSR is not going to be a first round pick, because he does not have the athleticism required, of someone his size, to impress NBA scouts. However, he is definitely one of the top 10 guards in the NCAA next year. His skill and strength at the position make him elite at the college level. Hopefully he can make the NBA, but he is not the kind of player the scouts will ever salivate over.

I'm not sure that there are 5 guards in the country that I'd replace DSR with. Not saying that he's a top 5 prospect at guard as it relates to the nba, just saying that there aren't 5 guards that would contribute as much as he would to the Hoyas this year.
