We are very good shape with him. Not so sure about that considering the Terps and the Runnin' Rebels are the clear leaders as of now. Depends on who you ask. We could be just as much of a contender as MD.

Have to guess that this one is wrapped up since we've got Copeland.

For those who have seen him play, can he co-exist with Copeland? Who's the better talent?

We are very good shape with him. Perfect fit in our system. Looks bored in HS... A special talent. Also not particularly productive in high school. Don't want.

I would think it was either or between he and Cope. I'd still rather have Looney to pair with him.

While I don't believe this will happen, I think Morgan-Copeland may be a better fit for what JT3 wants to do than Looney. Looney (I've been told) is great going to the basket...is a legit 6'9 and a long one...is really *not* a good shooter. Morgan and Copeland both have inside/outside threats. Morgan has really developed a really good outside shot. JT3 wants everyone to be able to shoot...unfortunately, rebounding may be optional.

I guess I'm partial to Looney cause there may not be as much baggage with him and feel the Hoyas have a better shot. Both go hard and GU seemingly has been on Kevon harder for longer. We'll see

Have any of the local guys seen this kid play live? If so what do you think his lack production is a result of? More specifically is it lack of touches, assertiveness, skills etc..
One thing I have heard is he is really good defensively, any opinions on that?

as we've seen, III will play 3 on 5 offensively, but only if all 5 are strong defensively. Sacrificing scoring for stops. Hell, 2 on 5 sometimes. If he can defend that helps; Looney is said to be a long, athletic defender. A bigger Brandon Dawson.

He can handle, run the floor, is athletic, can shoot, etc.. but doesn't assert himself enough, in my opinion, on the floor. But make no mistake, the talent is there and I have no doubt he and Copeland could co-exist.

I know the Rudy Gay comparisons have been floated around by his people. Now obviously Gay can shoot the cover off the ball but are there any similarities there, do you think he can play the 2 like Gay

If you watched a St. Frances game this year, you would've come away saying he was the third best player on his team.

Dog- what do you attribute to the delta in performance between AAU and St.F?
Do you think he's just over-hype, over-rated or is he deferring to seniors on the team?
ID - Re:Looney vs. Dawson comparisons...I've watch Dawson many times in person but not Looney. I do think there is similarities in terms of going to the rim, other aspects and also not being a consistent shooter (I know this from Dawson and have been told re:Looney). That said, Dawson is 3" shorter and is a physical beast. Looney seems to be built more like KD.

yes, Looney is slimmer; my comparison was based on skill set, primarily an inconsistent jumper. Dawson is a beast and I know the staff wanted him badly. I know Dawson is 6'6 and I thought I alluded to that. Anyway, with 5 chips for '14, I think we need to spread the wealth and cover the 1, 2, 4 and 5. We have our 3

So Coepland pushed him from wanting to come here. Good to know now instead of wasting time.

Now lots of chatter on twitter that were in his final 3 with umd and Unlv per Alex Kline and Evan Daniels. Seems weird to have conflicting reports come out simultaneously

"Wise also said Morgan was impressed with coach John Thompson III’s ability to “get the most out of his players.”"
One would think that that would disqualify Turgeon.
