After the signing of 2013, Top 30 recruit Stephen Domingo, we aren't likely to have much excitement around here for a while ... so how about this idea? Please post who you think the best Hoyas of the JT3 era are? That includes kids like DJ, Ashanti and Brandon who preceded JT3, but whose careers overlapped with JT3. I suggest we base it on what they did AT GU, not after. We could even do this several ways. For example: - 5 Best Hoyas of JT3 era
- 5 Best by position (in other words, best "starting 5" if they were all here at the same time. Best PG, SG, SF, PF, C)
- Best all around, #1 guy during that time period
Have fun!

I like Austin Freeman more than most. Chris Wright just edged out Jon Wallace and Jason Clark.
1) Roy Hibbert 2) Jeff Green 3) Austin Freeman 4) Greg Monroe 5) Chris Wright
I think Otto Porter will crack the top 3 of this list if he stays through his Junior year.
If I had to make a starting five, I'm going with:
1) Wallace (Wright is better on the whole, but for this lineup you want Wallace's J) 2) Austin 3) Green 4) Monroe 5) Hibbert
Not the swiftest group of guys, but they would murder teams in the half court set.

I love Henry but I can't slot him over Dajuan Summers or even PE JR. based on one season's worth of contributions.
Also, Porter can't be over Wright. I think he'll get there, but so far he has been the fourth leading scorer on the team.

Forgot Dajuan Summers. Henry was an intricate part of this years success. Also, you don't have to put up big scoring #'s to add significant value.

1. Jeff Green 2. Wallace 3. Roy 4. Monroe 5. Sugarfree
I would love to see this line up 1. Wallace 2. Austin 3. Otto 4. Jeff 5. Hibbert with PE Jr. and Hollis coming off the bench
#1 Roy Hibbert - couldn't be more proud of a guy that has a chance to beat the heat this weekend. Get it done big fella. Bring your Georgetown talent to south beach on saturday...I want to see a game 7 where Roy dominates!

I think Bowman is underrated but not sure where to put him. He shared two years with JTIII preceding the final four, but set the stage for that run. He gave us his best game in that upset against Duke. He also fouled at the end of the Ntore Dame game leading to a four point play. He has the most blocks of any forward who did not play center, led the team in steals, and is one of only six players to score 1,500 points and collect 700 rebounds. Unfortunately he lack consistancy, but I think he gave two decent years to set JTIII up.
Wallace remains my favorite. Just think he was that special kid who personfied consistancy, leadership, and basketball saavy.

I didn't see any lists above that didn't give credit to Roy. He was in everyone's top 3 (who provided a list) and in everyone's starting lineup. How much slurping would you like? ;D

If anything that is sillier than having Hibbs below JW.. Ashanti Cook isn't getting any love? I got you Shea. I had him @ the 10 spot, but I 4got to include Monroe--so he was outta there...

Jeff Greg Roy
Otto will probably pass Roy after this year, and pass greg with a deep run in his junior year

Jeff Greg Roy Otto will probably pass Roy after this year, and pass greg with a deep run in his junior year I love Greg but unless this is a ranking of sheer talent, I cannot possibly justify putting a two-year player who won zero NCAA tournament games ahead of a four-year guy who helped lead us to the Final Four.
