It's worth noting that Barton and Jackson were ranked 10 and 16 in the 2010 class. Both wildly underperformed their ranking but did earn annual accolades from Gary Parrish until Memphis flopped.
I am trying to imagine someone who considers it a personal honor that their basketball team of choice beats out another one for a recruit and obsessively checks opposing sites to make sure no one disrespects his team, but it keeps coming back to some middle-aged dude who sells stereos in Florida.

It's an honor to know we beat out UK for a recruit again. Will Barton, Skal Labissiere, Joe Jackson, and Dedric Lawson. Good times And what legendary names they are in the annals of the NBA.......what up and coming recruit wouldn't want to come to Memphis where the path to NBA stardom is all but guaranteed? I truly envy your rich history of basketball legends. If only another school could match up. Derrick Rose and Penny Hardway, i think, put them in top 25 in terms of producing NBA talents. Not to mention CDR and Tyreke Evans do get solid minutes in the league with the latter being former ROY.

Skal is going to be making $$$ after his one year in college so I think he will be fine. Special kind of player Skal is good, but I don't think he will be an one and done player - I see more of a 2-3 years in him at collegiate level. He got the size and skills, but needs to add more weight/muscles to endure the competition to recompensate for his lack of athleticism to compete right away in the NBA.

He's going to be one and done no matter what. He has a family to support in Haiti

There is a lot of pressure on this young man. I hope that it works out for him regardless of where he goes to school (unless he chooses Syracuse, Duke, or Benedict Arnold University ERR Boston College...just kidding).

Mostly talking about the ones he was so proud of in his post about beating out UK for recruits. Not too many schools out there who don't have at least one or two good to great NBA players if they have been a basketball school for a decent period of time. Not sure if Memphis gets top 25 though.....they've had a number of guys get to the league, but not many success stories compared to many other schools. I'd have to take more time to look at it though and I guess it depends how far back you go.

Well Chris Crawford, Joe Jackson, Adonis Thomas, Will Barton, and Elliot Williams are on NBA squads and it's to early too know how they will pan out because it is so early. Barton is backup PG for the Blazers this year and Williams plays meaningful PT for the Sixers. Jury is still out on Thomas, Joe, and Chris. We aren't expecting those guys to be All-Stars but just role players. The kids on our current roster have NBA upside to be more than a role player pending their progression. I think you need to revisit your definition of meaningful. When the team you play on goes 19-63, looses 26 games in a row, and did all they can to lose even more games....I am pretty sure none of those minutes are truly meaningful Beantown I suspect that Henry and Hollis might quibble with you.

How long would this thread actually be if tigerj had never shown up? 12 pages?
