Also pretty sure 8/12 players on our roster were top 100 coming out of high school. Friendly advice from the moderator: this is a Georgetown board. If you feel compelled to continue to pump Memphis' tires, there is a thread on the Pro & College sports forum to do so: hoyatalk2.proboards.com/thread/28037/Further posts solely dealing with the wonderful virtues of the Memphis basketball program will either be moved there or deleted. I do enjoy a Dan smackdown even when they're directed at me. Always funny.

I wonder how long interest in the Big East can last when you are broadcasted on Fox Sports south as opposed ESPN like the AAC. Also having football around helps keep your conference name out there and not only in the winter. I really thought Georgetown would stay in the AAC. It was a banner year for the conference with all the winning done by teams still in the conference. I expect a down year in basketball because all the teams lost a lot of scoring and are replacing it with young talent but should be strong again the following year. Yes, the AAC is so splendid that Louisville left in a heartbeat. And if UConn ever got an offer from the Big 10 or the ACC it would wave goodbye to the AAC and all of its, um, history too. And what a shame that the most prominent recruit heading to the AAC has changed plans and is now going to China instead, stopping SMU in its track in its attempt to become some sort of national power. SMU better try to get to that stage soon because Larry Brown won't be around for much longer. Oh, and by the way if the Big Five conferences decide to bolt the NCAA and make their schools the only one who can compete for BCS championship all of you other D1 football programs looking in from the outside might as well burn money because your football teams won't be worth the amount of money it takes to run such programs. Because if there is anything a program like Memphis knows how to do its paying people to get the results (or recruits) that it wants.

Skal is cutting his list to 5. Georgetown still on it.
A list for Labissiere
The (some) people have spoken: They’re tired of hearing about Skal Labissiere. But it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t have some kind of update for you today.
Labissiere, the five-star forward at ECS, tweeted Sunday night that his final list is coming soon. He told me in an interview earlier this month that he would release a list of five or six after the conclusion of the July evaluation period, and it seems as though he plans to keep that commitment.
I anticipate his final five will look something like this: Memphis, Kentucky, Ole Miss, Georgetown, and North Carolina. The fifth (or sixth) school doesn’t really matter. I’m not sure the fourth school matters. Provided Labissiere stays in the United States and doesn’t pursue an overseas contract, this is a race between Memphis, Kentucky, and Ole Miss.
If Ole Miss indeed hires his guardian, Gerald Hamilton, as an assistant coach, Labissiere will attend Ole Miss. That’s the way it goes. If not, I think he stays in Memphis.

"Insider" info aside, Memphis is still the least attractive option. I wouldn't hold your breath.

Everything about this smells like a bad fit for us. I trust III but seems like there may be better places to spend his time.

If Skal chooses Memphis, tigerj will probably make daily posts about Skal's bathroom habits. I'm starting to think that tigerj may be hifigator's bastard son.

Or maybe they're cousins....
