Tenille Stoudenmire finished 2nd in her heat in 24.05, but that was not fast enough to qualify for the finals.

Really nice time by Amanda. Nice bounce back after getting edged out in the 100. London ran really well. If she continues to improve and can get into the low 57's, she has a legit shot at getting to nationals.

In the men's 5000m A. Taye finished 9th in 14:34.32, TC Lumbar finished 13th in 14:43.05, and Alex Lundy finished 14th in 14:44.01. There was a spill with a few laps to go that I believe involved TC and maybe Alex.

The women scored two points today, while the men were shut out. Men still have 22 pts for 9th place. Women have three points for tied for 14th place.

Really nice time by Amanda. Nice bounce back after getting edged out in the 100. London ran really well. If she continues to improve and can get into the low 57's, she has a legit shot at getting to nationals. London looked as if she is ready to run in the low 57's the way she ran today. I think Amanda was caught in the blocks in the 100, but the 200 is her strength.

Continue rant: Very frustrating since in our heyday in the late 80's and 90's we always had good field eventers to compliment our stable of incredible distance runners. Whether it was a long jumper like Ray Humphrey or a shot putter like Kevin McMahon. Guys who made an impact on the national and international level. And behind those guys we had capable guys who would score points in the field events. One of my roommates was a pole vaulter and i know he would score points at Big East and he was 1 of 3 pole vaulters on the team. Now we don't even have an entry in half the events. I think people forget how dominant Georgetown men's track used to be. End rant. The field events have been pretty non existent for a long time, given the lack of facilities it certainly makes sense to concentrate on having an elite dist-mid distance squad. I guess what's most disappointing is that the men's dist -mid distance effort has precipitously declined in the last few years. In the mid-distances we are pretty far behind a couple of the ivies, e.g., columbia + Princeton let alone the top national programs. Its not just a facilities issue either as we still get some top recruits, though we did have a couple of bad recruiting years. Really seems to be a mixture of questionable recruiting strategy(not getting any guys with real speed), lack of guys developing(coaching ), + some bad luck re injuries. We have a couple of very good recruits this year, but its hard to think that is enough to see the decline in the men's perf turing around. Obviously its a completely different story for the women who remain an elite distance- mid distance squad. --end of rant

It seems as if we are a XC school now with track and field being an afterthought. The men having one guy in the 800m and nobody in the finals is indicative of the presence state of the men's middle distance running. Again, injuries and redshirting have added to the problem. Going into the last day, the men are tied for 9th and the women are 15th and last.

The women didn't have a 4x100 team, the men finished 4th in their heat in 41.64. The men came in with a 5th place finish overall.

Andrew Springer finished a fine 3rd in 3:51.74 while Bobby Peavey finished 8th in 3:54.89 and Miles Schroedler finished 9th in 3:55.45.
The runners from ND,who finished 1,2 were shaking hands about 10 m from the finish line, so the 2nd place finisher could have actually won the race.

Biyerem Okengwu finished 6th in the 110H with a time of 14.17. One of the UCon runners was DQ'ed at the start and he started to throw things all over the place.
