The Penn Relays start tomorrow. As usual, the Hoyas will be out in force. The women have a good chance to win or be very competitive in the 4x800, 4x1500, and the DMR. The men will have a harder time coming in the top five in those events. The DMR might be their best event with Springer anchoring. With grad student Kevin Wilson (graduated from GMU) running the 400 we won't lose too much time on that leg. I am not sure who we will have running the 1200m leg. Toby Ulm or Theon O'Connor should be running the 800m leg.

Chris Miltenberg Associate Head Coach, Georgetown track & field
Overall thoughts of the team: "I think we're as good as we've ever been. We have a good group back. We have Emily Infeld, who will definitely run two races this weekend and is ready to run against anyone in the country. We've got a really, really good young crew. Chelsea Cox, who ran on our DMR 4x800 is back, Rachel Schneider just ran 4:16 this weekend. Everybody is going in the right direction and we've got some good interchangeable parts that we're still trying to figure out what we're going to do this weekend."
On Emily Infeld: "She's doing phenomenal. She had a big year so far with a great cross country season where she finished fourth in the NCAA after missing a good chunk of training in September and October."

Women's DMR 27 s slower than last year. I guess they are saving Emily Infeld for the 4x800 and 4x1500. Unless she is sick. Also, Amanda Kimbers should have run the 400, Chelsea Cox the 800, and Rachel Schneider the 1200. Is the whole team sick???

We did better in the 4x400m relay and qualified (top 8) for the championship of America 4x400 relay.
Ranked List PL School/Affiliation Mark Athletes ID Heat 1 Oregon 3:33.78 Devin Gosberry, Laura Roesler, Chizoba Okodogbe, Phyllis Francis AC 3 2 Illinois 3:34.16 Ryisha Boyd, Ashley Kelly, Latoya Griffith, Ashley Spencer AF 3 3 Texas A&M 3:35.14 Kanika Beckles, Ibukun Mayungbe, Donique' Flemings, Olivia Ekpone AB 2 4 LSU 3:35.38 Latoya McDermott, Cassandra Tate, Siedda Herbert, Jonique Day AA 1 5 Texas Tech 3:36.03 Precious Nwokey, Candace Jackson, Cierra White, Olivia Lewis AD 3 6 Ohio State 3:36.39 Nyjah Cousar, Jacqueline Dim, Aisha Cavin, Shaniqua McGinnis AK 2 7 Hampton 3:37.65 Benita Taylor, Emmy Fraenk, Claudia Calder, Cassandra Jones AR 1 8 Georgetown 3:37.94 London Finley, Amanda Kimbers, Chelsea Cox, Tenille Stoudenmire AQ 3
Great time for the Hoyas, best time this year by almost three seconds. In company with some of the heavy hitters of women's 4x400 relay.

Great run by the 4 X $--I guess we did not try to defend our DMR title--ok runs by the DMR team, though they would have all had to run big PR's to be competitive for the win.

Great job by the 4 x 400. Nicely done. Flotrack has Emily listed on the 5000 heat sheet for the Payton Jordan Invitational so maybe she isn't even in Philadelphia.

1 Tatnall (Wilmington, DE) 11:28.86 Reagan Anderson (3:35.69), Lindsay Voltz (57.78), Julie Williams (2:12.49), Haley Pierce (4:42.92) B 2 North Shore (Glen Head, NY) 11:39.29
These two teams were 13 seconds up on the 3rd place team. No splits for North Shore, so don't know how fast Samantha ran. She was burning up the track during indoor season, but I think she might be a bit burned out from her frequent running.
EDIT: Haley's team set the Penn Relay record by six seconds. Haley and Samantha were just about neck and neck as they took the batons for the anchor legs. Too bad Samantha had that injury; it would have been a great race.

Great job by the 4 x 400. Nicely done. Flotrack has Emily listed on the 5000 heat sheet for the Payton Jordan Invitational so maybe she isn't even in Philadelphia. That doesn't make much sense. Surely, her time at Mt SAC qualifies her for 1st round NCAA. And to run two back to back hard 5000m is difficult. Also, Coach Milt seemed to indicate that she would be running two races at Penn, only unsure of what races they would be. I know Bumbi is running at the Jordan meet.

1st and 2nd for Tatnall and North Shore. Nice.
Nevada, Samantha got injured shortly after Millrose and got shutdown. I think this was her first race back so her time shouldn't be anywhere close to what Haley is running. Still, great to see that she's back running.

Penn relays website had Gtwn recruit Samantha Nadel running 4:53 for her 1600 anchor--she had run 4:45 last yr at penn for the DMR anchor and the same time indoors this year--this is her first race back from an injury during the middle of the indoor season so lets just hope she is rusty from not competing and not burned out--as she did race a lot until her injury.

Nevada, you're probably right concerning Emily. Liz Maloy and Kirsten are listed for Payton Jordan as well and both ran last week (and Kirsten today)

That's right, Samantha did get injured. I thought it was either that or running too much during the indoor season. I hope she is on her way back. Not bad for her first race outdoors.

The women took 2nd in the 4x1500m (beating Nova):
PL School/Affiliation Mark Athletes ID 1 Oregon 17:29.00 Melanie Thompson, Alex Kosinski, Anne Kesselring, Becca Friday B 2 Georgetown 17:40.99 Madeline Chambers, Rachel Schneider, Katrina Coogan, Emily Infeld G 3 Villanova 17:41.12 Bogdana Mimic, Emily Lipari, , Sheila Reid C 4 Dartmouth 17:44.95 Christina Supino, Alexi Pappas, Arianna Vailas, Abbey D'Agostino F 5 Indiana 18:13.34 Breanne Ehrman, Kelsey Duerksen, Arianne Raby, Chelsea Blanchard L 6 Iona 18:22.25 Heidi Gregson, Regina Neumeyer, Katie Niblock, Kirsten Stewart J 7 Toledo 18:40.63
Can't believe Oregon beat us (by 11 s) without Hasay. This was the lineup that I thought we would run, our best.
