I mean Mason's was the same day, if he was supporting his brother that makes complete sense...I'd be more interested to know if he stopped by at all while he was in town. Guess noone really knows the answer to that one.... This is the question. Did he sneak in an unofficial while in town? I guess we'll find out in 2 days

This kid is a perfect fit for what we are trying to do with our size and length and would be getting starter minutes as a freshman. Would be very happy to have guys like DSR, Domingo, Cameron, Hayes and JW3 be the team's nucleus moving forward.

Fwiw some guys on Tenn board were floating a rumor that they had got JW3, however they were debunked by some of their “insiders” who are now saying Tenn is out of it….
We find out in 2 days I guess..

then where does that put GU with Meeks, who's visiting this weekend. Talk about a ship crunch.

Well there's a good chance a certain player will go pro, there's a good chance a certain player will be unable to play due to a medical condition, and there's a good chance a player transfers. I think that leaves us with enough room for JW3 and Meeks. But even if we do not free up enough spots. I'd rather take a bird in hand and grab whoever we can first and figure out the rest later. If JW3 wants to commit, by all means take him.

Really looks like Porter is a goner the way we continue to recruit multiple Class of 2013 students.

Is his brother that plays for George Mason named Johnny Williams? That seems a little odd to have one son named, Johnny, then another one three years younger named Jonathan. Anyway, assuming that's the older brother, he doesn't appear to be much of a player based on the stats from his first two years at George Mason: espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/46428/johnny-williamsThat said, the fact that he's got a brother playing in the area can only be a good thing in this instance. A family coming from Memphis to see their kids play could typically kill two birds with one stone when visiting DC. Also, the fact that Memphis will be in the Big East when JW III would be at Georgetown should be a plus.

Most people think it is down to us and Mizzou with us in the lead. I can't find anything on the Mizzou message boards, but the tennessee message boards think he is coming here

Some people around Michigan State seem confident. People from Memphis still think Georgetown leads, Eric Bossi has said Georgetown has been a constant from the beginning but his dad likes state and Mizzou has some buzz. Seems like tennessee isn't a real option.
"From a Memphis fan: After speaking with him, other classmates, and knowing him personally I would have to say Georgetown or Mizzou.
Michigan State apparently is just out of his range and Coach Izzo's coaching style may not best fit him if you know what I mean.
UT- I really don't think they're much of a threat, but its possible?
Georgetown- Perfect Offense for him, Academics, DC, and he will be a little closer to his brother even though he'll be gone after a year I believe?
Mizzou- Plays a similiar style to Southwind and also has good academics as well.
All in all I believe he'll go to Georgetown."
Another Memphis fan stated: "Academics are perhaps more important to him than basketball so that should favor Georgetown. "

I guess one of the knocks against JW3 is that he can be soft and isn't a banger. Which is not the typical Izzo recruit. But that's only speculation on my part.

I can't see Tom Izzo really landing a kid whose father suggests was "turned off" by Tennessee fans who didn't chant his name when he was shooting with Robert Hubbs, but that's just my take from what I know of Izzo. Apparently his dad wants him at MSU and everyone else feels he'll be a Hoya/Missouri battle. Then again Izzo is chasing Jabari Parker hard and Parker's family is seeking more attention/notoriety then any highly ranked player I've ever seen. For a family that didn't want the "pressure" on their son and wanted to "shut things down"--they pop up in updates/interviews at a level that would make "Bubble Boy" Jim Calhoun envious.
The quote from Memphis Rivals Site update on him trimming his list:
He also pointed out that J3 was very disappointed by some things that happened on his official visit to Tennessee.
"Look, he hasn't forgotten how the fans favored Robert Hubbs on his visit," Mr. Williams said. "When Robert and J3 were in the gym shooting threes together, all the fans screamed for Robert and almost nobody called out J3's name. And J3 was shooting that thing just as well as Hubbs was. So that really disappointed him, he thought the fans would treat him better than that. They're both high level recruits. That played a part."
Personally think he's going to pick Georgetown--but that's just my opinion and not based on any information.

Jerry Meyer @jerrymeyer247 @spartyinmd25 Tough call on Johnathan Williams III. From what I am gathering would have to go with Missouri right now.
