I watched Mostella in hs and I didn't see what everyone else saw. To be fair his coaching has been poor, as was the talent around him, to this point. The kid can get buckets, but I didn't see it consistently. Now he's off to prep school to increase his comp and tighten up his grades. Has consistently said Hoyas and Kansas, but KU just took Mason, so Hoyas could be in drivers seat. It's been quite since he switched from MD prep school to IN prep school. We'll see...
As for Vonleh, his final six is littered with payola schools, some I'm leery. Maybe RDF or Yabo know a little more about this kid.

Praise Allah!! What a waste of a ride this would have been. This is not someone we needed.

Checked in here and I can't stop laughing at the comments here. I want chew my leg off, etc. Honestly, so damn funny. Thanks for the entertainment, folks. Glad I didn't watch any of that!
Who knows for sure, but we may have dodged a bullet there, personality-wise. Oh well. On to the next, JTIII!

For those of us who didn't watch, what exactly was so ridiculous about the production? The soundtrack to one of the videos they played had 3 songs...or rather, two songs with R. Kelly's "The World's Greatest" played twice (the first song and the third song). There were 20 minutes of sermons and 5 minutes of the kid actually picking a school. The feed was so low quality, it was impossible to hear or see 80% of what was going on. I understood prayers and R. Kelly, and then I saw a teenager pick up a baseball cap. 30 minutes well spent.

Adam Zagoria @adamzagoria Division 1 source says Johnathan Williams III is two years and done to the NBA. Big get for Mizzou. LOL Division 1 source? Like MizzZzou's coach?

I wonder what the commentary would have been if after Williams III 'decision' he had chosen the Hoyas. "What a great production." "This kid is ready for the bright lights."

Get your point, but telling you no one who watched even a part of that event wanted him to pick the Hoyas at the end of it. Just an embarrassing spectacle. Also, I really don't understand how we're in the running for all these kids at the moment given that we have no official scholarships to offer? Now that's the situation where we're being hypocritical - if a Cal or a Pitino was loading all these verbal commits on top of a full roster we'd be calling them out for it. I know there are issues - medical, early departures, etc - that could clear more room, but still.

I really saw it as more of a family/religious thing. I don't really know his path to stardom so I can't judge him for wanting to celebrate it in such a way. Honestly, it was probably for those closest to him that helped him get to this point in his life. But I don't know him personally so I'm not going to condemn him for something that might not have even been his idea.

This is no surprise. Nashville recruiting guru's has been calling this for weeks. He will be playing for a good man and coach.

What would have been best is if they said J3 was making his college decision at 8 PM EST, immediately following a family celebration.
To say that yesterday's entire 'ceremony' was his decision is like when ESPN says a game starts at 8, but it's just pregame, with the actual game starting at like 845.

So Frank Haith could be in trouble at Missouri with a potential show cause penalty stemming from violations at Miami. Something to watch. If he goes, JW3 could be back on the market. Not sure we have a slot, but anyway.

Don't want him anymore; I'd prefer better athletes to go with Josh and shooters.

Yeah, it's pretty clear at this point, we've got the shooters -- DSR, Cameron, hopefully Domingo, and we need to go get some athletes as well.
And big men. Can always be open to quality big men.

Transferring from Mizzou. Big time player led the team in scoring and rebounding. Could Hoyas have interest?

Transferring from Mizzou. Big time player led the team in scoring and rebounding. Could Hoyas have interest? Good rebounder, but pretty awful efficiency. I haven't watched him -- is he a dude that was forced to do too much or is he inherently a ball hog? Because his usage was pretty high, but he was at Mikael-levels of inefficiency.

I would love to have him over Agau. He is forced to do too much on that team. He is a good ball handler which would have made him a nice piece in this offense. Good on the boards.
