I mean it's only a half marathon not even a full one....kidding. I couldn't do an 1/8 marathon. This kid's dedication is fantastic. No doubt he will be a pro with a work ethic like that.

Maybe he can be a two sport all-star for Georgetown Basketball and Cross-Country?

I'm not sure but even with Derrickson playing the 5, I see few scenarios where the team on the floor could be referred to as small ball. We have the potential to have times where our team is 6'3", 6'8", 6'9", 6'9" and 7'0" on the floor and our shortest team next year would be 6'2, 6'3, 6'5, 6'9, 6'9. For once I see little chance we play small ball! Lol....We don't have enough guards to play small ball.

Not that it matters to me at this point but if Marcus's conditioning was one of the issues looked upon for rating by all of these recruiting outlets, I wonder where he would rate now?

Let's just say i expect he won't need as many breaks as Josh.

If his finish time was 1:51, then his pace was 8:28 min/mile over the 13.1 miles. Very respectable, especially considering his height and the muscle he carries.
Hate to read too much into a twitter picture, but want to give major props to the assistant coach, who appears to have run with Marcus. That is great dedication and motivation from the coaching side too.

My biggest takeaway from that results list: 12 year olds now run half-marathons?

Brewster had 7 of the top 15 players, all going to high-major schools, crazy...

Brewster had 7 of the top 15 players, all going to high-major schools, crazy... They had the Top 3, 4 of the Top 7 and 7 of Top 15. The average ranking of a Brewster Academy senior this year was 9th in all New England. Not bad, though 1-3 were dragged down by also having 13-15, but the point is that you are spreading a lot of wealth around when 7 guys are all so talented.

He beat my half-marathon time by three minutes, but I was 43 at the time!! I assume he has a high proportion of fast twitch muscle fibers though, which might handicap him over 13 miles. Unfortunately, I have never had that "handicap."
