The idea that Damonte Dodd is somehow a superior prospect to Anya is mind boggling. And both Stan and Hart are far superior prospects to Jabril coming out of HS. As for Franklin Howard, from what I've heard from Gonzaga people, he's just not worth the trouble. First he's a freshman and kids can mature with age. Second, Gonzaga sure was upset for losing trouble. Lastly have you seen Dodd play with his high school or basing it off of rankings or clips?

To bring this thread back to its original subject: I haven't heard the same complaints from PVI people about Derrickson, and he's also a freshman. These were complaints from Gonzaga people during the season. He's got a long way to go before he's mature enough to be a contributor anywhere, and he's got work to do academically too.

Keep your eye on Franklin Howard. . .he's a player.
and from what I hear, he was a real 14-15 year old fresh - which is somewhat rare in this age of reclassing - so he can be given a little more slack for truly being immature.

I have watch Dodd go from a gangly 6-3 freshman who couldn't chew gum and walk at the same time, with no competitive bball experience, aau or otherwise. Now 3yrs later and almost 7 inches taller receiving Big Time D1 offers. Big Youngin' (Dodd) is one heck of an athlete, and as HardwoodHoya stated above he hasn't received the best of coaching on the E. Shore. He also was on the Queen Anne's track team. I have seen him with my own eyes beat a few neighborhood guys in the 40yrd (give or take lol) dash in my front yard. To see a guy 6-9+ reaching full speed in 4-5 long strides is a site to see. He has a long way to go skill wise, but with the proper coaching sky is the limit for him.

Kingston Price @takeoverbball Marcus Derrickson from Paul VI played 16 minutes vs Oak Hill but had 16pts 10rebs freshman Tyler Scanlon hit go ahead 3 under a minute
Clint Jackson @clintjackson1 Marcus Derrickson having some success here early versus Oak Hill. Super physical and skilled PF with savvy passing game and a nice shot.
Higher Level Sports @higherlvlsports Marcus Derrickson from PAUL VI is in the Zone right now. He's all over the glass and scoring at will. #FB
Joseph Thompson @secbballrecruit S. Carolina has offered Derrickson, Florid has offered Howard RT @therecruitscoop: SMU offered 2015 Marcus Derrickson & Franklin Howard

You wouldn't be playing if you had a torn meniscus and a college career ahead of you and if he is--Britt, Britt's Dad, and his coach need to have a talk because that is ignorant. Britt has also been "hurt" the past 2 years since he's been garbage. Derrickson is a guy to keep on radar--just hope he's receptive to Hoyas.

RDF: I can assure you that Derrickson is receptive to the Hoyas. We were one of the first to show interest, and he's a great kid who will make a well-reasoned decision.

in response to RDF above - your right about Britt. Seems to me that every marquee matchup he looks bad in he's hurt. He didn't look injured to me on Sat., just outplayed by the young PVI guard. He had plays called for him that he couldn't finish at the rim and the shot is suspect. He didn't play last year vs. Patterson because of "injury" but I don't think the Britt's wanted anything to do with Aquille. This week was a homecoming in which any competitor would have wanted to play in. He didn't look good, and I know for sure if Roy knows he's injured he would have told Smith to sit him. Playing the injury card doesn't make sense, but he may be.

Steve Smith isn't going to play guys who are injured--remember when DSR had reinjured or banged up his knee and wanted to play on the China trip Oak Hill took last Spring? He made him sit out and rest. Britt has done this since I've followed him-bad game equates to (insert injury). Did it at Gonzaga Prep, with Assault, At Camps (that Adidas Nations event was laughable how he mentioned he was hurt because he sucked)and is doing it now at Oak Hill.

Now Derrickson is a man-child. I'm a UVA fan, so of course that's where I would want him. If Gtown got him, they would be tough. That Oak Hill game wouldn't have went to OT if he didn't foul out.

If Britt is injured every time he plays poorly, too bad he can't play for Tom Crean.

Yeah it sounded like some bs but..All the other things about his poor play though = truth. I think he’s averaging 5ppg on the season smh.. "Nate Britt, playing with a torn meniscus, struggled to score as Oak Hill suffered a stunning double-overtime defeat to Fairfax (Va.) Paul VI to snap the school's 56-game winning streak. Britt will miss at least a month of action as he'll rest up following arthroscopic surgery” and then this "Nate Britt, future UNC point guard, was playing with a torn meniscus as we learned after the game, but the Washington D.C.-area native couldn't bring himself to miss his return home for this intriguing matchup. Britt struggled shooting from the floor all game, failing to convert a field goal in regulation. But he did some nice things with the ball in his hands, setting up his teammates for several baskets to keep Oak Hill right there. " northcarolina.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1447072
