According to the San Diego Union Tribune, Hoyas have been offered to face off against SDSU (who we theoretically could play on Sunday - knock on wood, fingers crossed, other de-jinxing activities) in San Diego on the USS Midway on November 9. Similar game to this year's MSU-UNC game, although different carrier (the Carl Vinson is an active carrier, the Midway is essentially a floating museum) and different promotion company. www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/mar/15/aztecs-hoyas-could-meet-sunday-and-again-uss-midwa/Reed acknowledges the offer, but says its not a done deal. Thoughts?

Hopefully GU gets a return game out of this one - not exactly a true neutral site vs. SDSU.

Guess aircraft carrier games are the new thing, isn't there one in Newport News in 2012?

Article in Charleston SC paper a few days ago said there would be two aircraft carrier games in the fall on the Hornet, docked in nearby Mount Pleasant where I live. Said there would be a men's game with UCONN against an unknown foe and a women's game with Notre Dame facing someone (don't remember who). Seems unlikely there would be two carrier events the same year. Hornet is a smaller carrier than Midway so it would seat fewer people.

The Yorktown is what is there Ed, but you know that I'm sure and just had a slip of the fingers/brain momentarily. Didn't realize you lived down there, is that a recent move? 2 of my favorite restaurants in Charleston are near Shem Creek - still have 1 good friend who lives in Goose Creek.

Could be useful experience similar to playing in a large dome where you basically can't see the rim as well as a smaller arena in some cases. We need practice playing with those sight lines as prep for next year's Final Four and beating cuse at Carrier Dome for last time next year.
