Now they blow the call on the inbounds play! WTF!!! Yeah that was just mind blowingly awful. But apparently the lane violation was a violation. If you are behind the FT you have to stay there until the ball hits the rim.

NCAA needs to look in to that. I swear the refs have money on this game or something.

This is an unbelievable reffing performance. I mean, who needs Fab Melo when Cuse has these 3 guys stepping up for them.

OK, I looked it up. Here are the RPIs of the 13 and 14 seeds: Iona (14PI) - 40 South Dakota State (14) - 42 Ohio (13) - 45 BYU (14PI) - 46 Belmont (14) - 58 NM State (13) - 59 Davidson (13) - 64 St Bonaventure (14)- 73 Montana (13) - 74 So explain to me again how we got screwed? The RPI is a pretty poor predictor of future success, though. No model is perfect, but the advanced stat sites (KenPom, Sagarin, etc) are better at predicting NCAA tournament results. For comparison, here's KenPom: Iona (14PI) - 56 South Dakota State (14) - 57 Ohio (13) - 71 BYU (14PI) - 47 Belmont (14) - 23 NM State (13) - 63 Davidson (13) - 67 St Bonaventure (14)- 51 Montana (13) - 95 I think Belmont is very likely overrated in KenPom, but I don't think it's a stretch to say they are probably the best of the bunch.

Apparently Fab Melo was the key to Syracuse handling the full court press.
That crappy thing is that when Syracuse wins, they've gotten their close call out of the way.
And F you Julie Boeheim.

I love Jay Bilas:
Not a good day for officiating. Wow. My guess is the crew on Syracuse-UNCA game will have the rest of the year off, unless the CBI calls.

It is really unbelievable how badly they got robbed. The only consolation is this keeps my perfect bracket.

And because the sports gods despise me, we are going to be on the unhappy end of that kind of one sided reffing today.

they'll stop a game at the end of a blow-out for 10 minutes to review fractions of a second but they can't review that?? disgraceful.
head of NCAA officiating was just on TruTV. on the out-of-bounds: "gotta scratch your head...he didn't get it right."

So, upon hearing the UNCA coaches quote of his team being the better team today, JimBo says, "That's what they make scoreboards for."
Funny, considering...

West Virginia laying a giant egg. Can't say I'm bothered by that. Don't let the door hit you in the butt, WVU.

It will be true poetic justice to hear Jimmy Behind crying in a couple years when Duke gets those calls over SUcks.

I actually had to work today so I missed SU winning on striped backs - not news in any way given the gifts they've received this year. WVU looks truly awful and is throwing away a true home crowd. Can't say it bothers me except that I was stupid enough to pick them to win (only) this game.
