Huh? You asked if anyone watching these games felt worse that we got paired with Belmont. We all responded essentially, "nope", and then you said, that's not my point. Why did you ask the question then?
Nothing about today's games made me feel worse. If anything, it has made me feel better because two of the teams throttling lesser competition were Big East teams.

That isn't the point. The point is that Belmont is better than Montana, BYU, Davidson, ER al by a mile. We're playing a Sweet Sixteen caliber opponent in Round 1. It doesn't matter. It's the seed we got and we need to deal with it. Also, even if we played BYU or Davidson, people here would have been complaining and worrying about the matchup. Belmont is not a "Sweet Sixteen caliber opponent." Sure, they might be underseeded, but they would not have been a 4+ seed under any circumstance. Fans on this board are hyping Belmont so much that you would think we are a college team playing the Miami Heat. We are a better team and we need to play like we are a better team and get it down tomorrow with a solid victory. I can agree with all of this and still be angry that of all the 3s and 4s out the, we got matched up with the best opponent. Obviously we can and should win, but the point of a season's body of work earning a high seed is that we are supposed to be playing a markedly inferior opponent that will need to muster its best-ever effort to beat us. That isn't the case here.

I believe I said "angrier," namely, about the draw the committee gave us. Not "felt worse," or anything else about our chances tomorrow. Fortunately, this is the Internet, we can go back and read my actual post.

I agree Belmont is a good team. The fact that we continue to be only 4 point favorites really does make me nervous.

Big Dog, I hear you. The NCAA seeding this year was definitely less than ideal, but I guess when it comes down to it, there's human error in all of this. If we end up winning convincingly tomorrow, nobody will think twice about Belmont's seeding. Let's hope that's the end result.

Of course, nothing that happens tomorrow should be taken to tell us anything definitive about the comparative merits of anybody. But if we win, we will have achieved something more impressive than what Bucky and Marquette and Louisville have done, and the draw really opens up for us.

In other news, I'm already concerned that I went against my own rule "Always Bet Against Steve Alford When it Counts"

We were most likely the last #3 seed, so Belmont was probably the first #14 seed.

You were the one that said it has to do with the games today. I see nothing in the games today that proves that Belmont is a much better team than BYU, Montana and Davidson. What I saw was a very good performance by Marq, Lville and Wisconsin. It has nothing to do with the games today. These are inferior teams--go look it up. The performance today is just another reminder of what all of us knew on Sunday--we got shafted on the first game draw. That was my point. OK, I looked it up. Here are the RPIs of the 13 and 14 seeds: Iona (14PI) - 40 South Dakota State (14) - 42 Ohio (13) - 45 BYU (14PI) - 46 Belmont (14) - 58 NM State (13) - 59 Davidson (13) - 64 St Bonaventure (14)- 73 Montana (13) - 74 So explain to me again how we got screwed?

What a Editeding joke. It WASN'T a lane violation and even if it had been, it didn't affect the rebound ONE BIT.
