Congrats to both and well deserved!!! Now, get that NCAA First Round out of the way. Hollis with the Honorable Mention... he'll get First Team next year. I'll take Otto over those freshmen any day.

Shockingly Otto wasn't picked for the rookie team I don't usually care about slights on these types of lists, but that is stunning. I can see where a lot of non-GU fans might not notice / give Otto his due, but I am shocked that the BE coaches don't have him in the top 6/7 freshman.

Yesterday's announcers are the perfect example. After watching Otto make right decision after right decision, one said something like I will need to rewrite my top BE rookie team ballot.

Folks, you know it is about numbers and stats. The other guys picked ahead of him are probably starters who put up bigger numbers on, mostly, bad teams. Hell, even the guy doing the play-by-play didn't have Otto on his all-freshmen team and realized he looked kinda dumb for not having done so as the game unfolded before him. But people will always go by the numbers in these situations.
Congrats to Jason and Henry.

I am completely and utterly flabbergasted. Shocked, surprised, blown away and taken aback. This is like leaving the color Green off of the All M&M Team, or Lebron James off of the Most Reviled ex-Cleveland, OH Area Athletes List. Otto Porter is one of the finest frosh players I have ever seen. He obsesses on rebounding. He handles and passes with complete surety, and clearly can see two moves ahead of the average Big East baller. My main beef with Otto is a Jeff-esque tendency to be too team oriented. That, fellow Hoya fans, is not a deal breaker in this context. I actually cannot recall a Big East level snub of this magnitude, though I remember feeling similarly unhappy with Reggie Williams not winning the Naismith his Senior year. The Admiral took the award having played roughly three games against the level of competition Reggie dominated over thirty plus. Anyway, I guess Otto has a clear opportunity to set the record straight this week...

Harlem-it's Mike Kelley and he's done many Hoya games in past and gets hyped as a great defender when he was on the original era of misconstrued praise-Dick Bennett's Wisconsin teams. Kelley was seen as a great defensive player--and like the Scout mentioned about Bo Ryan's team in Seth Davis breakdown-it's a joke. They don't defend at all-they limit possessions by not trying to score and score is low and gives them this aura of being a great defensive team. Porter not being on this team is as laughable as having Ashton Gibbs be Preseason POY.

These ballots need to be made public, let's find out which coaches are not paying attention.

The top 6 are pretty good (although I could easily find one or two at least to bump for Otto)
But, Anthony Collins? The kid who isn't a threat to hit a jump shot, turns the ball over at an obscene 34% rate and directed the 2nd worst offense in the Big East? Uh, no.

SO pumped that Jason made 1st team. He really deserves it! And who would've thought that Hank would be 3rd team before this year?! So happy for our seniors.
