SO pumped that Jason made 1st team. He really deserves it! And who would've thought that Hank would be 3rd team before this year?! So happy for our seniors. RT. Also, as shocked as everyone Otto is not on the rookie team. I never thought he was in the running for ROY, but I thought he was shoe in for the all-rookie team. I would also argue that Jordan Theodore should replace Lamb on the first team. I mean lamb is a better prospect, but JT led that team out of nowhere to respectability.

POY and COY get announced Tuesday, FYI...
"The BIG EAST Player of the Year will come from the All-BIG EAST First Team. The conference will announce Player of the Year, Oppenheimer Funds/BIG EAST Coach of the Year, BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and American Eagle Outfitters BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Tuesday, March 6. The announcement will be made between sessions of the first day of The BIG EAST Championship Presented by American Eagle Outfitters at Madison Square Garden. The press conference will begin after the postgame interviews of the afternoon doubleheader have been completed. The other league individual awards will be announced Monday, March 5."
only coaches vote for all-league teams...
"The conference’s head coaches choose the all-conference teams. The coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players."

What's worse, there were 7 selected to the Big East All-Rookie team due to a tie (or ties) in voting. There's no way that Otto is only the 8th best or worse freshman in the Big East.
I'm working on a statistical analysis of this. Also, I doubt Otto is the type that really cares about this stuff, but I hope it can light a fire under him for the rest of the season.

Honestly, the only way Otto would know he didn't make Big-East All Rookie team is if someone told him. And I guarantee the only disappointment he has today is that the team lost to Marquette yesterday.

Andre Drummond, UConn: 28.4 mpg, 10.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 0.5 apg, 53.4% FG (and 31.3% FT, yikes) Chane Behanan, Louisville: 25.0 mpg, 9.3 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 0.9 apg, 50.0% FG Jerian Grant, Notre Dame: 35.7 mpg, 12.5 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 4.9 apg, 39.0% FG LaDontae Henton, Providence: 37.1 mpg, 14.3 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.1 apg, 45.9% FG Moe Harkless, St. John's: 36.0 mpg, 15.0 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 1.4 apg, 43.8% FG D'Angelo Harrison, St. John's: 35.2 mpg, 17.0 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2.1 apg, 38.1% FG Anthony Collins, South Florida: 32.1 mpg, 8.0 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 5.3 apg, 49.3% FG
And... Otto Porter, Georgetown: 28.4 mpg, 9.0 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.6 apg, 51.0% FG
Decide for yourself, but based on stats alone, I would say that Otto should be in over Behanan from Louisville and Collins from South Florida.
Again, I'm fairly sure Otto doesn't care, but I also hope he proves them wrong in the Big East and NCAA Tournaments!

Henry makes 3rd team, and the 1st and 2nd teams don't even have a center on them.
If that doesn't say something about the dearth of good men in college basketball, I don't know what does.

Which is why I don't understand the rush to make Davis of Kentucky the Player of the Year. It isn't as if he is going up against legit, talented big men even once a month.

Davis is by far the best player in college basketball. I dont think it's even close honestly.

Because he completely changes the game. Kentucky is a different team without Davis. If you use that excuse on Davis then you have to use it on Robinson.

That guy is really good. But I will say without a doubt he should have made it over Collins. That is absurd he didnt.

I think that it's unfair to have Grant on the Freshman team. He's really a sophomore. He got Red shirted last year, but he's a year older and has a year of practice under his belt. I would take of Grant and Put Otto on.

Good for Jason and Henry, but come on, Otto should have been in there too. If he stays long enough, he will be POY some day.

Love that at least one coach didn't vote for Kevin Jones presumably because WVU is leaving the conference. There's no logical reason to leave him off, which leaves spite, beautiful spite...

I'm not sure I get the argument either. If you aren't going to rush to give it to Davis, who would you give it to? Davis is unbelievable good, and he plays against the same competition that college basketball players play against.

I don't get all this Davis love. I'd give it to Thomas robinson every day of the week. He averages more points and more rebounds and has carried a much less talented team. Without Davis, uk is still top 5. Without Robinson, Kansas may not be in the top 25.

Teams are pretty much spot on to me. Exceptions I would make would be to put Truck Bryant on the 2nd team and Jardine on the 3rd. And of course Grant, Henton or Collins off the rookie team in place of Otto.
