The year did not open well for our Hoyas who lost to Maryland 16-11 Friday night. Who knows, this might be the last game they play for a while.
Truthfully, I didn't expect us to get that close. I couldn't be there, but last time I checked, we were down 6 points in the second quarter.
Better luck next time.
Kind of mad about losing this (hopefully not) final game to the Twerps.

Game wasn't that close--we were getting killed in until Maryland brought in second team defense and then we went wild in the last 5 min or so. I think we scored 5 goals in less than 5 min at the end vs their second team defense.

The guys are 5-5 having just lost to St. John's in OT. Two tough matches in Notre Dame and Syracuse coming up and what should be (but you never know) an easy one with Rutgers... What in the world happened?

About as silver of a lining as one could hope for this season, Hoyas top 'Cuse in the Carrier Dome 10-8 on ESPNU.

That always makes me smile.
Also, Orange were on the edge of an NCAA tourney birth so this probably took them out of it. Hehe.

The season is never that bad if you beat Cuse. And if Lizzie is right, go us.

According to an email from the AD, Men's Lacrosse has raised only 46% of its fundraising goal for this year. That's one spot away from DFL among Georgetown sports (Cheerleading is last at 21%).

It looks like the Hoyas didn't make the cut for the Big East Tournament. If we want to maintain some dim hope of an NCAA at-large bid, it wouldn't hurt for cuse to win against ND and/or Nova to keep some luster on our only marquee win of the season. Of course, that's assuming we throttle Rutgers on Friday night (senior night at MSF).

If we want to maintain some dim hope of an NCAA at-large bid, I can't decide whether this is boundless optimism or comedy.

D'oh. Is it thoroughly out of the question?

Most likely. The NCAA doesn't even include us when we SHOULD be in.

Maybe if the NCAA expanded the tournament to 64 teams...
But seriously, this program needs new blood. It's really tanked lately considering the talent that has come through.

Trouble is we're actually a pretty veteran team this year. Look at the midfield and defense particularly - lots of seniors. Only a few underclassmen contributing. This might get worse before it gets better.
Beating Cuse is nice though.
