Nice. Just did a quick check at dyestat and they also have Giancarlo Sainato on the men's side and the women's side they have Haley Pierce, Samantha Nadel, Heather Martin and Rachel Paul. Heather finished 16th at NXN last year but was apparently injured this fall. Rachel Paul ran the Millrose mile the past two years finishing 5th and 6th (behind future teammate Nadel).

Haley Pierce finished 2nd in the 2012 Brooks PR 2 Mile. Great field. Footlocker champ Molly Seidel won in a time of 10:13 with Haley getting outkicked and finishing in 10:14. Footlocker runnerup Erin Finn finished in 10:18. Great time by both Haley and Molly.

Ahmed Bile was named All-Met First Team in Track & Field by the Post. The Boys Athlete of the Year went to Buckeyes-bound Champ Page.
The short blurb on Bile reads:
Ahmed Bile Annandale/Sr.
Va. AAA state and Northern Region champ ranked second in country in 1,000 (2:26.36). Ran 4:15.32 in 1,600.

Thanks for the news, Russky. Ahmed won the HS mile at the Colonial Relays this weekend in 4:14, bettering his 4:15 for 1600m.
Additionally, Darren Fahy was one of 16 HS runners, who broke 9:00 at the Arcadia Invitational in California this weekend with an 8:54.

Pierce is definitely a top 5 recruit--fairly similar PR's to Emily Infeld--she should be able to have some impact next year--since emily still has indoor/outdoor eligility for next year the biggest need is for XC, which is very tough for even the most elite freshman to have an impact on right away.

Agreed that the XC is the toughest test for a freshman. However, even without Emily Infeld we still have some depth, so the new recruits, especially Pierce and Nadel, will not have to step up right away. That being said the the top four schools will probably be Providence, Washington, Oregon, and Florida State. We should definitely be fighting for a top five performance.

Per the Sunday WaPo:
"Annandale tied Grassfield for the boys' team title and became the first Northern Virginia school to capture at least a share of the AAA championship since Westfield won in 2004...
Senior Ahmed Bile helped spark Annandale to a share of the team title, winning the 1,600 (4:13.12) before taking a very quick 800 from Westfield's Tyrone Walker in (1:51.52)."
There's a photo of Bile accompanying the article with his arms raised in victory as he wins the 1,600.

One runner, who is interesting on the women's side is Andrea Keklak. Apparently, she is a transfer student from Princeton. We have had grad students from the Ivies, who have not used up all their eligibility, because the Ivies do not allow redshirting. But Andrea in 2012 was a sophomore, so apparently, she has at least two more years of eligibility. She has a 2:06 800m to her credit.

Keklak would actually be a soph here if she's actually transferring--not sure because i guess she'd have to sit out a year--unless she's at Gtwn for a year only just like the grad students from the ivies.--she seems to be pretty similar in talent level to Rachel Schneider.

Apparently Ahmed Bile is the son of former 1500 meter world champion Abdi Bile (1987 and 1989). In what I think is a first, a coworker bounced up to me today to inform me that Georgetown has a really good track recruit arriving this fall

In what I think is a first, a coworker bounced up to me today to inform me that Georgetown has a really good track recruit arriving this fall That is indeed true! In a related point I went to New Orleans in Dec. and was driven from the airport to my hotel by Abdi Bile's cousin. At that time I didn't know Ahmed was a recruit for Georgetown. Expecting great things from him. I don't think he has been close to his potential in HS.
