Thompson said today that there's no rush to apply for the redshirt. Apparently they have his entire 4 year career to do it. There's still no timetable. Thank you for the update. Just hoping this kid catches a break. It is hard not to like him watching him on the bench.

This is more than a little frightening. Is it reasonable to think that the doctors still don't know what's wrong? If they had found something serious, as with Jeff, he would likely have been scheduled for surgery by now, and I don't think that would be hushed up. Poor Tyler.
Happy now, EE?

I am sure they are taking every precaution and being as conservative as possible. Like Moses, Tyler will easily be granted a medical redshirt. No point in rushing him back if they can study his heart over a longer period of time to give the doctors the most data possible to identify any issues and make a decision. This one more than even a torn ACL should be treated with the utmost care and conservative actions.

I get the feeling that Hopkins playing more minutes at 5 the last couple games is an indication that they are going to redshirt the two and use Hopkins as the 3rd big this season.

I think its quite obvious that Moses and Tyler will be redshirted this year. Both of them weren't projecting to get major minutes in the conference schedule anyways, so its great to be able to give them enough time to heal and get an additional year. As far as Tyler is concerned, its doubtful that doctors havent figured it out yet. Georgetown has always been tight lipped about this stuff and he probably just doesnt want his health business out there in the media right now. It seems fair to let him be - we'll know what he's been dealing with when he and the university are ready.
