Ed can ignore the fact that people move there, a lot of the time (including the companies) because the cost of living is low and the real estate is cheap. Rarely is the moving of big business into your area a sign of prosperity and high quality of life. And, historically, the schools in SC have scored horrendously. Consistently in bottom 20% in the country for a couple of decades now. People aren't, in many cases, moving there out of desire but out of necessity. Co-sign. My "people" are originally from South Carolina. When my family have visited the kin still in SC what we see isn't a pretty picture. The vast majority of the inhabitants aren't enjoying some golden age down there. The money made flows through only a limited number of hands. Businesses and millionaires had gone down there because they realize the state will keep its anti-union approach intact and thus paying workers and improving working conditions won't get in the way of making a cheap buck. Hell, South Carolina is what you would call a welfare state; a state in which takes in more federal spending than it pays in federal taxes. SC also has had forever major issues in regards of a crumbling infrastructure and lowly rated schools from high school level to the collegiate level, which is to be expected from a state that refuses to tax the wealthy enough to solve those problems. Not to mention the current governor isn't nearly all that popular considering she's apparently running a state that is supposedly doing so darn well. But, hey, at least the state can boast of two successful major college football programs. That is more than enough to distract the sheep that resides in those parts. And I say this as a person who wasn't elite enough to make it into GU and thus be mistaken for the elitist crowd. Getting back to Peak...yes, getting out of SC may be the best thing for him. But any personality flaws he has will travel with him. It is up to him most of all to ensure he doesn't ruin a great opportunity. He is still the recruit I'm looking forward to seeing the most next season.

Okay... Let's get back to basketball! I doubt any recruit wants to read his thread and see adults bickering over the merit of his state...
L.J., we can't wait to have you. No matter where you're from, Gtown will be a wonderful new home and we are all excited to see what you bring to the table over the next four years!

I can think of any number of legitimate reasons for an 18 year old to punch someone else in the face. In fact, though they are far fewer now, there are still reasons at 29 years old that I wouldn't hesitate to bash someone's face in. You can't judge the kid based on this incident.

Kids get into fights it is what it is but Peako has to understand from this point moving forward whatever he does big or small will get big time attention. So in other words show restraint when possible because no matter what he will be labeled the bad guy.. A lesson to be learned Keep working on that jumper youngin we’re going to need it next year..

An early favorite of mine. A man of few words who does it all on the court.

I can't wait to see LJ suit up. He has the most college-ready body of any recent Hoya that I can recall. Even more than Jabril. On the highlight video, I couldn't help but think he looks like he'd be a solid wide receiver too. Is it November yet?

On the court, LJP is the closest thing we've had to Victor Page in 18 years. Will be great to see him do his thing.

Coach'll have no choice, they'll revolt And I would have to join them. We have to adjust. As you guys are tired of hearing me say, by now, these guys are naturally run and gun players. It's the least path of resistance for them. It does not require a whole lot of strategizing. I'm not saying we cave into this easy, street style of play; we just need to recognize this. I think Duke does a good job of it.

The "princeton" even traditionally only held the ball to shorten the game. The Sacramento Kings ran the traditional princeton offense and no one thought they were holding the ball. Jt3 just has to stop his settle down motion he gives to the point guard when its not an obvious break situation, stop the micro managing.

We're still running Princeton offense most of the time? I hadn't noticed.

I remember my first day on campus.... Indescribable feeling. So much in front of you at that moment. It's on you to either take advantage of the opportunity or to let it slip. Go get em LJ! Best of luck! Not to mention, now that the newest Hoyas have moved in, isn't it time to start up new threads for them on the main board? I can't wait for November.

I think he has always done a great job with the hand dealt him. This past season was just very unfortunate.

Coach'll have no choice, they'll revolt In general, coaches don't change when recruits do. Fans reading these recruiting pages and expecting "Dunk City" are going to be disappointed. The lineup is still DSR, Trawick, Cameron, Hopkins, and Josh Smith, with Bowen as the first off the bench. Copeland and Campbell will see a little more time than people expect right now, Peak and White probably a little less. Mourning and Hayes, not sure.

And yet there was Bo Ryan this year completely changing the pace of his offense. It does happen. That being said, I don't think it changes for us dramatically next year but by 2015 maybe.
