Paul Pierce leaving is always a good thing all by itself. In this case, I hope Otto jumps all over the opportunity and goes all Syracuse game mode on the league.

Not to quibble but - Roy looked right at the guy as he started the pass, looked away after he had made it.

Greg Monroe poured it in for the Bucks last night, 19/13 with two assists, two steals.
Greg Whitt had the most minutes off the Miami bench - 34 - and led the team with 13 rebounds, but he also went 3 of 12 with 6 TOs. Getting the chance to play, that much is for sure, but if his O doesn't catch up with his D, who knows how long Miami keeps him on the court.
Roy had 8 pts, 10 rebbies and one assist in addition to the video-taped dime above.
So three Hoyas grabbed a combined 36 boards last night.

Josh got to start for the Rockets last night and did alright (11 pts / 6 rbs). It seems like he's firmly #3 on the center depth chart, so I guess it just depends on how many bigs Houston wants to take into the season.

Otto is off to a "fair" start tonight with a 6-6 from the field (including 1-1 from 3) for 13 points, and it is not even halftime.

Otto is off to a "fair" start tonight with a 6-6 from the field (including 1-1 from 3) for 13 points, and it is not even halftime. Oh jeez, Nevada... didn't you get the memo that Otto is a bust? I've seen parts of games and Otto looks like he's finding his depth. Wait until he packs on a little more muscle. I couldn't be happier that he's healthy and showing what all Hoya fans knew he could do all along. I really don't like Paul Pierce (Knicks fan... don't ask as Melo is still in town) but I sort of liked Washington bringing him on because, by most accounts, he's a good locker room guy and is good to younger players. I thought that could be good for Otto. And, from what I read, that was the case. I'm even more excited that he's gone because it provides an opportunity for Otto to step up and show his value after having had some experience at the NBA level. I know that the Wizards haven't been great at player development but, in this case, I feel like they did a very good job (possibly inadvertently) of bringing Otto along by teaming him with a guy that has been around the block a few times and knows what it takes to excel and to win. I hate Pierce a bit less as a result. I hope Otto continues to do Otto things. He continues to be really fun to watch and that's difficult to say about a dude whose game is based on being really solid in the fundamentals. He won't blow you away athletically but he'll do it by knowing, instinctively, where he's supposed to be and what he's supposed to do. I don't recall a guy with a higher BB IQ in that capacity from freshman year onward. Here's hoping that he just keeps progressing and that he realizes all of his potential. He's another in a long line of Hoyas that is so easy and so much fun to root for.
