I always thought we should have tried a rotation consisting of: PG - Jeff Green SG - Greg Monroe SF - Julian Vaughn PF - Vernon Macklin C - Roy Hibbert Coming off the bench, in this order: Henry Sims, Joshua Smith, and Alonzo Mourning All offense to occur within 16 inches of the rim, and all players to foul out before the second TV break. That's just a stupid lineup. You should have Hopkins at power forward--that's his natural position. TBird has won the internet for today. Everyone else, hit the showers. We'll see you tomorrow.

I only got a quick glance during some highlights, wasn't really paying attention - but was that Dikembe sitting next to Prince William at the Nets game??

Yes, Dikembe was sitting next to the Duke of Cambridge. I saw that clip on CNN International. The Duke's key interest is illegal trafficking of wildlife. Maybe Dikembe is a supporter of the cause as well.

Hank with a 3?? Weirder than NJIT over Michigan. I think he has hit 3 3s this year. He also takes the FT'S on technicals. He is shooting like 80% from the line.

Anybody know why Otto's output is so low? I think the most he has scored in the last few weeks is 4 points, plus 2-3 rebounds. In the double OT game last night he didn't score. He started the season so well; I guess the players he replaced have come back.

Martel Webster is still out, but Rasual Butler has come in and shot the lights out and has cut Otto's PT. Otto has slipped back a little bit into being way too passive. Part of the issue is they really want a small forward who does nothing but camp out for the kickout, and while Otto can do that, it's not his best skill.

Only a coach with an extraordinarily short term view of things would be riding 37 and 35 year old small forwards for 60+ minutes a night in December to the detriment of a second year player they think highly of (presumably). I know I'm biased, but what value is there in playing Otto less than 20 minutes a night now? If he's going to be important down the stretch this year, why not get him more experience after an essentially missed rookie year? If he's not going to be important down the stretch, why run Butler and Pierce into the ground this early on?

He started the season so well; I guess the players he replaced have come back. The emergence of Rasual Butler as a 3 point gunner has been a big factor. However, it has also coincided with Ottos's return from a minor leg injury against the Heat. He missed one game, and when he returned to reduced minutes, he has not seemed to be aggressive at all. Not sure if he is 100%, because he looks so different then the confident guy who shot more than 50% from two and three for the first part of the season.

Otto honestly isn't taking advantage of the minutes he's getting right now and he might find himself squeezed out of the rotation once Martell Webster comes back. Butler is just flat out playing better than he is right now and has earned more minutes.

And don't forget Butler is shooting ridiculously from 3. A few games back he was leading the NBA at 55%

From my watching of the games, it just seems like Otto's shooting has gone a little cold. Most of his shots come off of screens a little ways back from the elbow, and kick outs for 3. And he just hasn't been making them. So Whitman, sensing that he needs to get some scorers back on the floor, gets Beal or Pierce back in the game.
I still think Otto is doing a great job defending, rebounding, and getting people looks. But he needs to start hitting some shots, or he's going to be seeing less and less of the floor once Webster comes back and Butler continues shooting so well. I don't know Butler that well, but I almost feel like he's having a Jeremy Lin type moment that's going to be tough to sustain.

He's still doing a lot of Otto-like things on the floor but he can't buy a bucket and Butler is the first wing off the bench right now simply because he's making shots.

He started the season so well; I guess the players he replaced have come back. Combination of the vet Rasual Butler being on fire from 3 and Bradley Beal coming back which is giving less available minutes. Gary Temple hardly gets any minutes and he was productive before. Also, I think when Nene got hurt, Kris Karsdashian was moved to the starting lineup and that has really weakened the 2nd unit and taken it out of it's flow.

Otto has not been particularly good in some of the games I have watched. At his size, he has to be able to consistently stroke the ball in the NBA. Not happening yet. He looks small/frail out there. NBA is a man's game.
