Dallas is beating Philly at halftime 75-29. Wow never thought I'd see that score in an NBA game.

Just got back from the game. The Sixers scored the last five points of the game to cut the final lead to 53.
Noel looked awful. He was minus 39 in 29 minutes. That's actually pretty hard to do. His legs look like toothpicks.

It's a good thing they are getting paid. Double-edged sword. Without that team being so bad, neither would have gotten the extended look they've gotten. The question remains, what will they do with those chances? There are still reports of Hollis not taking enough shots. If getting beaten consistently by large margins doesn't spur one to look for more shots and to play better D, nothing is going to. Both guys need to be as aggressive on both ends as they're allowed to be to make them attractive to other teams. Certainly, losing that badly night in and night out has to be taxing mentally. But each of those guys has to play for his future every night.

You could see that in the pre draft weightlifting video at UK. He's just too frail to make an impact at power forward or center and his wingspan is nothing special at the NBA level so he won't put up big shot blocking numbers. His best chance is as a small forward but he didn't develop any small forward skills at UK. This is becoming cliche but he's someone that would have greatly benefited from the Georgetown skills development program which would have given him small forward tools.

But each of those guys has to play for his future every night. Problem is neither guy is in a position to demand the ball and the shot distribution is dictated by that thief MCW and the other point guards. Hollis was the leading 3pt % shooter last year among NBA rookies so his value is well known by the NBA execs. He's just stuck on the wrong team right now.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Hollis and Hank both shot less with MCW being back. With Wroten and MCW playing and dominating the ball there will be less shots for everyone else.

porter is really showing aspects to his game that he didn't really show earlier in his career (GU). If he can work on going to the basket and finishing, he'd remind me of Pippen.

He does have some Pippen in him in terms of his length, arms, filling the various stat columns, his selflessness, his IQ and and his effortless ability to play within the framework of an offense and compliment the more high profile star (stars) he plays along with. And I pat myself on the back for claiming that the kid would be able to play defense against multiple positions at the NBA level even when some of my fellow Hoya fans thought he would struggle on that front. He is showing signs of being a beast on that front. What he lacks that Pippen had was that unreal explosiveness and Pippen's point guard level ballhandling. Of course Pippen could not shoot the way Porter appears capable of doing.

I think he gets underrated by many that aren't Bulls fans. I heard about it for 3 years in college living with a native of Chicago. And he was right.

We have been calling him Otto Pippen on here for years for a reason. maybe a few. i know i was as high on porter as anyone could be. the form on his 3 pt shot is much better, he's hitting midrange shots contested at a great clip, and his handle's better. i think he'll make a few all start teams before all's said and done
