Most striking thing about that list is the presence of entirely large state institutions other than GU and Puke. It is amazing what we do as a small private institution. SUcks is not a public institution ... not sure it qualifies as an institution at all.

My bad. It is clearly an institution. One need only look at the conduct of its inmates to know that.
Inasmuch as it operates like an SEC school, I just lumped them in subconsciously.

I understood the rumor to be Pacers trading Roy for the point guard from Phoenix, Dragic. Supposedly Phoenix had no interest. A Year ago at this time, they would have jumped at it. I think Roy's stock has taken quite a hit, with his surprisingly uneven play over the second half of last year. Its so crazy, because he always had a great work ethic, and skillwise had come so far, both offensively and defensively. If he doesn't play at a consistently higher level, his next contract won't compare to his present max deal.

i do not know if it is true but rumor was paul george was messing with hibbert soon to be wife.it is weird to see how he was playing ,and how he looked so down most of the time.sports illustrated had a article about those rumors to.i think something was going on inside that team. roy will have his best year if he gets traded out of that mess of a team.i think he needs a change, and i know he will bounce back big time. i think a team needs to run the offence inside out that he goes to thru him.he is a smart passer.and unselfish. he will bounce back if he gets traded. go big roy.

A very nasty rumor that has zero basis in fact as far as I know. The guys are great friends and were laughing about the whole thing during one of their fishing getaways. Doesn't take much (Twitter) to turn a complete falsehood into a "hot" rumor.

Hell, there was that holy thing about how Corey Fisher got some other Nova player's girlfriend pregnant back a few years ago. Delonte West and Lebron's mom is another example of it.

What I don't get is why a player who never ever gets passed the ball is blamed when he doesn't score. Hibbert stopped receiving passes in the second half of the season. He had games where he rebounded and when he did he scored a few points but rarely more than 10. He had other games where he did not rebound and therefore scored no points. Meanwhile when Bynum was in they ran plays for him and passed him the ball? The second half of the season they never ran plays for Hibbert. The question is did Indiana decide they didn't want Hibbert anymore?

Like most on this board, I am a HUGE fan of Roy. However, I do not agree with the excuse that the Pacers stopped passing to him , while they did pass to Bynum. First of all, Bynum played exactly TWO games for the Pacers. Second, Roy just shot the ball very poorly last year (.439 FG Pct) which was his lowest rate ever. I saw several of his games, and if I were not so biased, I am certain I would have wanted him to shoot even less! Although I believe that his role as a rim protector/shot blocker detracts from his opportunities to get more rebounds, his avg of 6.6 per game was still quite a drop from previous years.
JT Jr. used to tell his centers that if they were not getting enough passes.. " grab some offensive rebounds and score on your own." So..whether he was unhappy about Paul George, Bynum, whatever.....I do not much blame the Pacers gameplan for his lackluster season. He can be much better than he was last year. Hopefully, he will come back with a vengeance this year.

The sad thing is that Roy has proven he belongs in the NBA and can be a force. When his play/production falters it is more of a mental issue than a physical one. When he loses confidence his play can go south in a hurry and stay in hibernation for weeks on end. As for other Hoyas...interesting that Greg accepted that qualifying offer from the Pistons. Not saying it was the wrong move but I am surprised that a David Falk client would ever go that route.

MCI..did not see that Greg took the QO. Obviously a gamble that he stays healthy this year (not that injuries have been an issue for him), as he could have been guaranteed at least $50 million by signing a 4 year deal. As an unrestricted free agent he is definitely worth more than that, but one twist of the knee and you could end up with nothing. Wishing Greg and Roy great years in 2014-2015

Apparently, Greg has indicated that he will sign the QO..but has until Oct 1 to do so. It could be a move to gain leverage so that the Pistons will do a sign and trade prior to actually signing the QO. Once the offer is signed, he cannot be traded until mid-December (it seems.)

It's a gamble. But they won't be able to move Josh Smith for the rest of his deal. If Greg actually wants to maximize what he can do on the court, he can't play in that lineup. It sucks too, because Drummond and Greg could've been a (slightly) eastern version of Gasol and Z Bo.

I hope he makes it. Benimon looked quite good in a summer league game I watched. Far better than his time with us. He is still limited by his lack of hops, but he is strong and has some skills. Still amazing if he makes the league, while Austin and Chris Wright (except for 3 games) cannot.
