DaJuan played the whole 4th quarter against Lakers. The subs cut 25 point LA lead to 8 and made Jackson keep Kobe in. Summers was 0-3 fg but made 2 ft and had an assist and a block. From pistons blog at mlive.com:
Do DuJuan Summers' minutes mean anything about Austin Daye?: In garbage time, Kuester went with Summers over Daye. It could mean nothing ... the game was basically over going into the fourth and Summers is currently the 11th man, so it made sense he'd play in a blowout. But Daye only played three minutes in the game, and didn't get off the bench in the fourth. Summers was solid defensively in his spurt, and defense has reportedly been the knock on Daye so far. Perhaps Summers might earn some more playing time in the near future?

Talk about the anti-Hoyatalk vibe over there! LOVE that. Two of my favorites with regard to Roy: "Roy is the man. I love this guy." --- Correct and correct. "Roy is turning into something special." Almost correct. He IS something special and his game is catching up. With regard to DaJuan.... who wouldn't take DaJuan over Austin Daye? Keep up the work DS. It looks like it's paying off.

I love the unnamed scout Bill Simmons talked to (I think it was Simmons) on Daye: "He's the type of player that gets GMs fired.

Ah, yes, Tommy. I recently sent Dan a picture of NH as a 12-year old with Tommy sitting in my living room, when Heinsohn was NBA rookied of the year. ;D Horse's Heinie was sitting in your living room when you were 12? How did that come to pass? My dad was a Holy Cross grad and was able to persuade Tommy to attend the HS (that I would eventually attend) athletic dinner. So before the dinner he came over for a chat (and to look at my scrapbook of him).

Glad to see Roy playing well.
Can anyone tell me what's happening with PE, Jr? I haven't seen anything about him in a long while.

Of course they are. He's almost averaging a double-double and he has 13 and 6 (with 2 blocks) at the half tonight against the Knicks.

Nice double double for Roy last night. Though it was against the Knicks so I'm not sure that counts. He added a coupla blocks too.

Of course they are. He's almost averaging a double-double and he has 13 and 6 (with 2 blocks) at the half tonight against the Knicks. And then from what I've learned the Knicks double-teamed him and even fronted him (with two guys hanging around him) to keep the ball out of his hands in the second half. Unfortunately Rush and the point guards could not knock down any shots at all. And Granger got into foul trouble and had to miss much of the second half. Still the Pacers should have won and were up somewhere between 12 and 16 with just under 8 minutes to go. And they lost. O'Brien went small (never went back to his strongest lineup that dominated the Knicks in the first half)because of foul trouble and the lack of shoting and the Knicks exploded offensively. They outscored a tired and short handed Pacers team 34 to 17 in the final quarter.

Nice to see Roy 27 spots ahead of Odon. Of our '07 opponents, I actually thought Odon and Conley seemed like good guys, and Odon had a unique kind of personality, so it's a shame if he never flourishes. But after all the big man comparisons, I do like it that our guy is looking so strong.

Oden is absolutely coming around. He seems to be getting his athleticism back after the major knee injury. One could argue that he is already the best defensive center in the game (although it would raise eyebrows while Dwight is still in the league) at only 21 years old. He's anchoring a devestatingly effective Blazers D.

Roy getting some nice love over at the WWL. Ranks him 3rd among sophomore players this season. Here's the blurb. Hibbert is on the early list for most improved player. For a guy with a nice perimeter shot, he's using his size to pound the paint instead -- he's getting 69 percent of his baskets in the paint. His rebounding numbers are way up, too. And more importantly, he's helping the Pacers win; they've won five of seven games this month with Hibbert scoring in double figures and shooting better than 50 percent shooting in each game. Earlier this week, he had 19 points (on 9-of-11 shooting), 10 rebounds and three blocks against fellow soph Brook Lopez. insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/columns/story?columnist=thorpe_david&page=Sophs-091120
