Spoke too soon.....Nawleans!!!!! When the NBA owned New Orleans and Tom Benson bought them they were rewarded with the #1 pick (Anthony Davis). Now with Anthony Davis leaving and the franchise down the toilet they are rewarded with the #1 pick (Zion) That's some very fortuitous luck.

Ewing looked over and saw the result before the NBA guy announced the Knicks.
And David Griffin must be a good luck charm because he's gotten 4 #1 overall picks with organizations he's been with.

Assuming Greg will get one soon as well Why would Greg get one? I'm not as familiar with the NBA, but at least in the MLB typically anyone that plays for the team throughout the season is considered to have contributed to the championship, so they all get a ring.

I believe the NBA is the same way. Greg wouldn't obviously qualify for a playoff share but would be eligible for a championship ring since he played most of the season with the Raptors...

I know that I'm a biased GTown fan but why isn't Marcus on the active roster? His D can't be so bad that they wouldn't try his shooting in their dire need for O.....

Speaking of AI, the birthday kid, his philosophy is leaking over to running:
(From letsrun.com) As you probably recall, Allen Iverson made famous statements regarding the importance of an actual game competition vs the importance of everyday practice. I believe this is a great example for runners to follow.
Most runners take practice way too seriously, to an extent that they underperform on race day. While I agree that its what you do in the offseason (when nobody is looking) that makes you a great athlete, we just have way too many runners hammering it in practice and then being blown away by less talented runners in big important races.
And so on...

Got to be for the Raptors, since we lived in Toronto for two years. Of course, before the Raptors were formed. A minor consolation for the Canadian fans because of the shutout in the NHL. And also because of JYD (met him at Nordstrom's and he is as nice as he appears to be in public).

Would have thought the Warriors would hold on Derrickson based on need of young developing low cost talent based on all the injuries and the fact that they are going to be over $200 million in salary cap penalties if they resign KD & Klay? Also I expect them to trade Draymond Green at some point if they do sign KD & Klay which would open up other playing opportunities...
