Whit was just as good as Otto in college, so Greg should be starting in The League soon. Except, he wasn't. Still, I hope Whittington makes it to the NBA.

Obviously Whittington was never as good as Otto on the court. But when the season ticket holders got to tour the locker room in Verizon and meet Coach before their sophomore season, JTIII said to us, "If you like #22 (Otto), then you're going to love #2 (Greg)." It didn't work out that way, but not because of talent. It really was a shame, and I hope Greg gets it fully back together.

Whittington's problem wasn't his physical talent -- it was the gray matter between his ears. If he gets that together, he can make the league. IIRC, he played in Kenner last summer so he knows he has to work.

Talent doesn't always equal performance and execution. I was responding to the assertion that they were equals in college which is just untrue. As I said, I hope Whittington makes it up to the NBA.

Was kind of hoping the Wiz would take a look at Hank with the rebounding problems they have been having, but they went with Ryan Hollins. Oh well.

Definitely more upside, which admittedly isn't saying much. Hollins has done ok for himself for a guy who was pretty much a stiff at UCLA.

I wish all those who berate JT3 would watch this. If Otto had stayed 3-4 years and Whit had his head screwed on straight and stayed with him those two would have led us to a few BE championships and a final 4 appearance. Sadly GU doesn't have the luxury of losing guys like this and just reloading. But when we get them and they stay JT3 has shown he can coach them to a championship.

If only Hops could have made half of his missed bunnies, if only Josh could have lost 40 more pounds (which he lost after the season), if DaJuan could have decided to rebound and mix it up inside like the strong, 6'8" he was, if only Austin could have gotten in great shape for his senior year instead of a month after the season and right before the NBA pre-Draft camps... if, if, if....

Iverson texted Kobe about his retirement
Allen Iverson wrote to the Lakers star, in part: "To the Mamba, one of your biggest fans here. To the top competitor, with the biggest heart. You brought so much out of me like no other player ever has. ... There will never, ever be another Kobe Bryant. I love you bro and good luck to you."

Stinker of a game at Verizon as the Wizards lost to the lowly Lakers with Roy scoring 2 and Otto 8. Meanwhile Mr. Consistency, Hollis, scored in double figures again as the 76ers started another losing streak.

Otto has not been particularly productive on offense, especially given the minutes he receives.

Otto has not been particularly productive on offense, especially given the minutes he receives. Yup. He is really shooting the three poorly..and the shots are normally wide open. Shooting 26%. Playing well in every other area, but in the NBA these days, the SF has got to be able to hit 35% or better.
