Ah... the dreaded time between summer ending and the beginning of basketball. Unfortunately, both Dan and MCI are too mature to turn this into an entertaining flame war to keep my idle brain occupied a little. This is prime hifi time of year. I guess it's time to check for a new tigerj post.

triangleoffense.com/news/cleveland-cavaliers-interested-in-adding-roy-hibbert-or-larry-sanders-as-rim-protector/CLEVELAND CAVALIERS INTERESTED IN ADDING ROY HIBBERT OR LARRY SANDERS AS ‘RIM PROTECTOR? The Cleveland Cavaliers are rumored to be interested in landing either Roy Hibbert or Larry Sanders as a “rim protector,” potentially adding yet another weapon to a lineup that already boasts LeBron James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving. Indeed, these days it’s good to be a Cavs fan, as since James made the announcement he planned to return there the organization has also added savvy vets Shawn Marion, Mike Miller and James Jones. According to Ohio.com, the Cavs are now weighing the possibilities of using Brendan Haywood’s $10.5 million contract and those of several other nonguaranteed players in a play for Hibbert, who reports are the Indiana Pacers are leery of paying $15.5 million to next season in the wake of Paul George almost certainly being sidelined for the entire season.

I know next to nothing about NBA contracts. Is that even a possibility for the Cavs after this season in terms of assuming Roy's contract?

Very unlikely. Theoretically they could build something around Varejao's contract. I think a Varajeo/Tristan Thompson deal would work salary wise.
They DO need rim protection because Kevin Love does not give you anything there. A Kyrie/Waiters/Lebron/Love/Roy lineup would be borderline unfair.

As opposed to spirit being spirit by jumping into a disagreement in order to add your two worthless cents. See how everyone else who stepped into this decided against taking sides or pointing fingers but you of course can't contain yourself from throwing in your little dig? That speaks volume about your pettiness and your severe lack of judgment. I made a statement that was accurate and I was polite when doing so. I felt Dan's response was a bit of an overreaction and incorrect. Nonetheless I kept my head with my rebuttal and again remained polite in the process. The end. Nothing to see here. Except of course these days you are taking offense to everything I write anyway. At this rate you, SFHoya and whomever else you can scrounge up might as well form your own sewing circle and spend your days griping about my existence.

We just came back from Glacier National Park and huckleberries were their specialty - huckleberry pancakes, huckleberry creme brulee, etc.

Tas, I thought it was a sequitor, instead of a non-s. A little off tangent, I suppose. Just wanted to get our 40th anniversary trip in here somehow.

And just to make this NBA Hoya worthy, congratulations to big Roy on getting hitched this weekend. Best wishes to the newlyweds.

Lic could keep a growth plate history if needed. Where has Lic been? I posted nearly the same thing the other day. I'm hoping all is well with him and it's just been a busy summer.

Roy has had some very strong playoff performances, against very high level competition. He dominated the defensive player of the year, Tyson Chandler two years ago for an entire series, and Chris Bosh and the Heat. His defense includes not only blocks, but the ability to keep teams from scoring or attempting to score in the paint. That huge factor, keeping teams from scoring inside is NOT included in those stats. That being said, I do believe he has not performed up to his ability, His FG pct should be higher, and grabbing 9 rebounds a game is something he has still not done. So,,,some valid criticisms in the article, but not the full Roy Hibbert picture.
