Very, very happy for Roy, and good for JTIII for being there. Saw some local media people on Twitter trying to start a "controversy" as to whether it's ok for JTIII to be in public supporting Roy against the home team. This is completely insane, even by sports talk standards. Does anyone think JT2 or Dean Smith or some other big-time college coach would have said to one of his struggling former players, "I can't be seen with you in public"? This better not become some sort of talking point... Well he was also there supporting Otto too so controversy squashed

And it wasn't like he was decked out in Pacers gear - that might have gotten a call from Ted Leonis.

He has a player that is on the Wizards. Maybe he said hello to him. Plus he was sitting with Falk who is both Roy and Otto's agent.

That was a good showing for the Hoya's. With JT3 in the house future recruits can see the bound that carriers over into their professional life. It was also a great plug by Hibbert that JT3 provided a little guidance to get him back on track.

...or corey fisher impregnating scottie reynold's gf in the year they got bounced in the first round of the NCAA tourney. Wait. That didn't happen? Stupid Internet! When I lived in Pittsburgh in the late 90s, there was an absurd rumor involving Bill Cowher and Kordell Stewart. Just unbelievable the depths to which people will sink.

Good Roy!! JT3 will be a talking point during Games 3 and 4 in DC. Great for GU!
Btw, what was JT3 doing in Indiana? Just watching Game 2 or was he also on a recruiting trip?

Guy from ESPN college hoops recruiting basically echoes the sentiment of everybody on here and in Hoyaland...
AdamFinkelstein Adam Finkelstein JT3 sitting court-side as Roy Hibbert finally has a good game might as well be a Georgetown recruiting commercial

As bad as things have been going for Roy recently things could definitely be worse.. When I first read this, my eyes saw "Nets". Scrolling back up the page, I saw that Boz and seaweed liked it, so I took a closer look!

(Particularly big men and wings given Roy last night, Henry's emergence and Moose being a prized free agent this year. Interesting too that we're getting an influx of wings thanks to Otto going 3rd in the draft. I wonder if Markel can get drafted and help us change the image of our guards to pull in some elite backcourt players too.) Somehow we've managed to do this despite some recent post season struggles. It's time to capitalize with another top 10 class in 2015 and some on-court success. The foundation is now there for the staff to put together teams that can compete deep into March....

Whether or not JT3 was visiting a recruit in Indy, that was a recruiting trip. Getting face time during Roy's big turnaround Playoff game? And in all the highlight reels? And on twitter feeds? as the commercial says - Priceless. Recruits all over the country - especially big men - saw that, heard about that, and will keep that thought in their heads, especially when guys like Broadus, Hardy and Sutton are pointing it out and reminding them.

Kristen B.@kristenberset · 14h What do you think about JT3 being here to chat with Hibbert? Helping the enemy beat the hometown team? @gameonwusa9 #dcRising Bram WeinsteinVerified account@bramespn· I love JT3. I don't know if I love seeing him encouraging hibbert to beat the hometown team.. In private, sure. In public?

After all the jokes and ribbing Roy received Coach shows up when it’s at it’s highest point and the kid explodes for damn near 30 and 10… The fact that coach was there in a very public way shows the teaching and commitment to these kids go well beyond a 4 year scholarship. In the end will it mean much? Probably not, but can’t hurt and certainly makes me proud to be a fan

You have two sons. They play on opposing teams. You are there in support of both. One did not play; One played. You congratulate the one who played and won. What's the issue?

Dan Steinberg @dcsportsbog 10m Hibbert whisperer JTIII will reportedly attend Games 3 and 4 at Verizon Center wapo.st/1uGf6dd LMAO! “I wanted to get there to give Roy some support,” Thompson told Comcast SportsNet before the game. ”I think the main thing was just letting him know that we’re here for him. He has been struggling, he’s been beat up, he’s not playing well. I think the main thing, I just wanted to sit down in my own way and remind Roy that he’s still Roy and make sure he remembered who he was. I think he kind of got the message.” Instead of remembering who he was, Hibbert must have imagined himself as Dwight Howard with a better free throw shot. After Thompson said Hibbert’s struggles were “fixed” and predicted that he’d have a good game, the Pacers center scored a season-high 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting

Candace Buckner @candacedbuckner 6h Hibbert on #Georgetown coach John Thompson III's advice: "He just told me how to work on positioning and bending my knees a little bit more”
Candace Buckner @candacedbuckner 6h More Hibbert: "Things that a good coach sees the small details in. I'm very appreciative of him taking the time.”
Candace Buckner @candacedbuckner 6h Hibbert, again very thankful for support, acknowledged that JTIII is in scouting season but still showed the old alumnus some love.

Didn't catch the game in DC. Was JT3 a talking point last night? He was mentioned a few times, was sitting courtside yet again and they had a few shots of him over the course of the game.
